   About Julie Sutton
Julie began writing songs with her sister when she was around 4 years old. The first song they cowrote went like this: I have a dress/Oh yes, oh yes/It has spots on it/I would not throw it in a pit. Artistic differences arose when Julie wanted to edit that last line to say "I wear it with a bonnet" but Patti disagreed. Julie stomped off, shouting, "I can't work with this! I'll be in my trailer!" Julie's music has been described as "folk-pop that is rootsy, yet modern; a mix of genres that includes blues, jazz and country."

Hey, ya know, the capitol is going ok. I have had some good times out here and some not so good times. Overall, though, it's been a good experience.
Oh, man, I am still gonna be out at Jeff City! I am here til the 19th! Oh, hehe, how are Kurt and Susan? You know, Kurt tried to set me up with someone? Hehe, interesting times.

Thanks for finding me and requesting to be my friend. I truly loved listening to your music. You remind me a lot of.....Me. I especially liked "Over You" "Wear Blue Tonight"
and "Dance". I'm kind of a love sick poet, I'm working on a new CD of acoustic ballads with a Fogelberg influence, your songs moved me. The cello on Dance is beautiful.
Thank you for sharing your gift.
Keep in touch.

Hi Julie, I hope to have a blog posted over the weekend with a review for "Open Any Door". That's one uplifting collection of multi-genre good original stuff. See ya in September! peace, Ernie. oh, did you ck out Rappin Obama on You Tube or MySpace? I don't really do rap but I wrote it and figured I'd better use it or toss it. Ck it out, "Rappin Obama" on You Tube by Ernie Hill.

Julie, thank you for requesting to be added to my friend space. Welcome new friend!! Recently I’ve been meeting a number of musicians whose music falls outside of my typical library of music, and for that reason I feel I can listen without any judgment, totally objectively and not deny my true feelings in response to the music. This allows me to feel the pure magic that music has to convey feelings and mental images, your music is a fine example of that magic opening my mind and heart as well as expanding the boundaries of what I listen to on a regular basis. “Dance”, based on the number of plays among the songs you have uploaded, I take it, must be a new track.Unfortunately, and I don’t know if you are aware of this or not, gets cut off mid-song, maybe it’s simply because there is a high volume of myspace members on line. At any rate, it a very beautiful piece that stands out from the selection you have uploaded in that it is primarily piano, voice and cello. For this reason it becomes that much more powerful. “Wear Blue Tonight” expresses a deep loneliness, that of missing someone intensely. But there is also, what I would call a courage captured in the recording; a strength and truth of personal feeling in your words and voice. It feels to me as though you are revealing a vulnerable, emotional side of your personality that is very difficult to convey. Your clear voice also helps to cut through to the “heart” of the mood and feeling. “Over You” seems to be a very heartfelt lament for the absence of a loved one, I swear that I hear an ever-so-slight touch of Gordon Lightfoot, I’m not sure exactly what it is, I can’t quite put my finger on it. Stirs up the idea of having to face a breakup or distance from a loved one, or simply imagining that kind of situation or fearing such an event. (continued below)
