Bugs, birds, carnivals, tractors, mountains, junkyards, playgrounds, freeways, lawnmowers, the moon, the wind in dry grasses, cessnas flying low at the end of summer, the sun on my back, damp soft grasses between my toes at sundown, the orange light glowing in the green fronds...........................................................

I work at a music store so I am influenced by lots of people who come there to teach or buy something or have a lesson. The other day, I played "On Top of Spaghetti" with a customer while he was trying to pick out guitars. As far as influences- X, The Wicked Tinkers, folk music from all lands, Melodeon John on Youtube, The Dolomites, The Hobo Gobbelins, The Kinks, Cole Porter, Erik Satie, Johnathan Richman, kids these days (they are so smart!), Harry Nilsson, Bagpipe music of all kinds, X Ray Spex, Neko Case, The Who, Bowie, The Clash, Eartha Kitt, The Germs, The Memphis Jug Band, Monty Python, lots of my amazingly talented musical friends, Cowboy songs, Johnny Cash, The Carter Sisters, Malvina Reynolds, 60's garage punk, local bands, local indie radio like KDVS 90.3 FM, Music from many nations, Phillip K. Dick, "The Sheep Look Up", Terry Gilliam, Terry Pratchett, Carnivale, Douglas Adams, Miyazaki, Satoshi Kon, (OK, anime in general, but not the really silly stuff) diligent tenacious music fans who go see bands, musicians who play despite the odds, and folks who put on SHOWS despite the INCREDIBLE ODDS. Also, I played a horrible little casio keyboard for years when I was a kid. I hated the damn thing, but it was the only musical instrument I had because we were poor. Now playing accordion, most of the time all that boring practicing along with a ROM cartridge paid off! My fingers know what to do anyway! Kid's it's worth all the painful practicing, eventually, it took me more than 20 years to appreciate it!!
Let's just say all kinds of things influence me, I ain't no island! Speaking of islands, alba gu brath! Independence for Scotland!!!
Sounds Like
I sang in churches. I sang in choirs. I sang under bridges. I sang inside. I sang in the fields. I sang nonsense. I sang on stage. I sang my own songs. I sang in the showers. I sang in curse. I sang in tongues. I sang in church. I sang in bars, I sang on streets, I sang in case you wanted to hear it. I sang in apartments, I sing on the beach, I'll sing for you and sometimes screech!
I'm a singer-songwriter, actress, fiction writer, Radio DJ, comic artist, illustrator, and entertainer that sells guitars for a living. Did I tell you I make jewelry?
I play regular gigs, parties, and especially, kids parties! I performed at a kid-friendly show at the Java Lounge monthly for a YEAR! Book me for a high-energy show!
Right now, I've been playing a lot of accordion ( A LOT OF ACCORDION!!!), tenor banjo, and bass. My main axe is a wonderful banjo guitar assembled by Keith Cary. I've been playing in the Sacramento area for a long time, and I won't dignify you with an answer here about just how long that's been here! Suffice it to say, if you haven't seen me, there's no one like me. You're missing out.
I've been doing my own promotional materials and I've been writing songs since I was twelve. Why not book me for a show and find out in person what all that creativity really sounds like in person? I will perform at parties and benefits, and I have a repetoire of over two hours of kid-friendly music, both original and covers, with an eclectic mix of classics and newer tunes. My own songs range from crass brassy blues to punk rock tunes. I play bass and I'll do backing vocals too.

I can't WAIT to listen to your kitty duet! I'm on Ter's laptop, though, and it's telling me I need to install something-or-other before I can hear your music. Blech! I'll wait until she comes home to ask her about that, and then hopefully we'll be ready to roll!
Glad to have you as a new friend here on myspace. I am not sure if you got a chance to listen to my songs yet... but I thought I would fill you in on what I am up to!!! I go to California at the end of the month for a concert and a photo shoot. I love being in front of the camera and on stage =) It's about time for new pictures-yay!!! Hope that you are happy and having fun!!! Hugs, Zoe

Yeah. Thanks for the insight. I'm always trying to be perfect. And it takes so much from me. My flaws make me happy. So, I guess it's alright to make mistakes and whatever, lol.
