One of Colombia's hottest aspiring talents, Julie Zorrilla is a heart stopping music phenomena pursuing a career as an international recording/performing artist. A trained musician in styles such as Jazz, Ragtime, Gospel, Choral, Musical Theatre, and many more, her ability to combine her musical knowledge with an unmeasurable creativity is her key ingredient to originality as a songwriter and artist. Pianist, singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Julie first began developing her artistic talent as a classical pianist at age four, and began songwriting at age six. By the time she turned eight, the violence ravaging Colombia forced Julie and her family to seek refuge in the U.S., where she continued to cultivate her passion for the arts as a dancer and musician. After several years as a Piano Major at Denver School of the Arts, Julie spent a year training as an Opera singer at Idyllwild Arts in order to further improve her vocal technique and performance skills. She then returned to DSA as a Vocal Major and dedicated her time to writing and producing. At 15, she wrote/produced her first demo, which led her to the studio of Grammy nominated producer Nathan Reid. By her 17th birthday, Julie released her first EP "About Us" under Reid's Indie label Mercury Sauce. After finishing her high school studies Julie decided to devote all her time to her dream and defer her acceptance to Berklee College of Music. She is currently living in Los Angeles and working towards the release of a second album as well as a career in songwriting. One of Julie's main dreams as an artist is to be able to remind people that the true purpose of music is communication, and that the most valuable aspect of music is the music itself and the message for which it stands.
