Juli has been a freelancing bass player since 1996, and she currently performs regularly around the Denver-Metro Area. She has performed a variety of styles including rock, jazz, fusion, funk, folk, country, latin jazz, gypsy jazz, classical and musical theater. Juli regularly plays with the band Cuddle (jazz trio) and Sunday’s at Vic’s (jazz quintet).
Juli received her bachelor’s degree in music from Baylor University in Waco, Texas where she played in orchestra, jazz ensemble, and musical theater groups. While living in the Waco area, she also played in several bands including Out of Silence (rock) and Elephants Gerald (funk cover band). Juli actively freelanced in the Waco area being called to play recording sessions, jazz gigs and musical theater productions.
After moving to Boulder, Colorado in 2004, Juli quickly began making her way into the Denver – Metro music scene. Juli attended the University of Colorado at Boulder for a Masters in Jazz Performance & Pedagogy. In school, Juli performed with the university jazz ensembles and jazz combos.
Hey Juli, I didn't get to see you at the rocky mountain inn after all! How was your stay there??? Our room was nice - but the carpet was brand new, and the fumes of the carpet DEFINITELY did not affect my thesis writing in a WEIRD way... hope to see you again soon!
