Jumbo Jr. is the children's musical manifestation of Lauren Henschen. Formerly the name of her multi-age solo project, the Jumbo Jr. name is now reserved solely for her children's music.
Though Lauren has been tampering with keyboards since the early 80's, Lauren began her formal musical career in 2005 when she was seen performing stand-up comedy at Modified Arts in Phoenix. That stand-up routine included a comical song she had written on the guitar...somehow she was mistaken for a musician and spontaneously booked to perform the following week. That meant Lauren needed to come up with some other songs. She did. And 3 years later, she's still writing them and people keep inviting her back. Never having pursued her own booking, Lauren is proud to have played over 50 shows at this point, all at the behest of others. She loves to make people clap, sing along and, most importantly, laugh. She still tell jokes between songs.
Lauren's new regular musical act is known as So And So.

Le Tigre's got a new band and they are playing the Rhythm Room tomorrow night(Mon 6/20). William effing Reed will be joining Jared Alan for his opening set. You should def consider coming out.
