The original sound of Jumbonics was mostly instrumental crunchy jazz break & bass heavy tunes with a real snap, crackle & pop in the mix. Often laced with a jolly melody skipping over the top to enhance a vibrant mood.This is slowly adapting towards a more live soulful funk injected sound largely song based featuring Norman Anderson on vocals, Mac & Smooth on hand claps & mix duties..
The New Jumbonics long player is all done and ready for release on february 9th. It's called "Talk To The Animals" and represents a move away from the experimental instrumental sound of our first album "Super-Baxophone" to a more vocal song based selection which still veers east in places. We have a 7" single out at the moment (on Tru Thoughts as is all Jumbonics music) of Last Nite , a funky retake of The Strokes classic aimed straight for the dancefloor, and a deep moody string drenched beat work out called The Red One on the flip. We are currently preparing for a live show at cargo which is the LP launch on Feb 12th. We hope to play a few festivals over summer and some more club dates in Autumn.
