June in December have been around for 2,5 years now, leaving their audiences dazed and confused wherever they go. With their fresh blend of indie-wit, raw rock-energy and the smooth intellect of jazz they surge through the likes of modern pop and mathrock, into a structural chaos they call ‘indie-core’.
Today, there remain few that will question why they're called the way they are. Formed in Assen in the late spring of 2006, the band now resides in Groningen. Musically, however, the band has made more mileage.
Everything they do is a collective effort. The way the instruments and vocals are intertwined –leaving no obvious front(wo)man– up to their enigmatic approach towards composing songs have not been in vain: both their recordings and live performances are highly acclaimed, and within their short, yet successful existence, their conceptual sound only seems to continue to grow. Furthermore, the media are unanimous: this band needs to release a full-length.
Right now, they are working on new material and playing live as much as possible. Keep an eye out for these cunning new-kids-on-the-block: June in December.
