I leave you now to ride my horses of steel, for they depend on me
to run them, no matter how I feel. As my train starts it's journey and
leaves behind a lonely town, I have a smile upon my face, but it hides
a lonely frown. My headlight burns a path while rolling through endless
country sides as well as every little town, people hear me coming as my
horn starts to sound.
When the whistle starts to sing it's song, crying out that same old
tune, many smiles wave to me, we hope to see you soon. The roaring of
my engines can be heard from far away, soon I disappear into the
horizon, hoping to return another day.
Sitting at the signal I've stopped my train to wait, for way off in
the distance, will come another freight. While riding out these rails
of steel, I run this rolling thunder. As I’m looking at the stars
above, I often stop and wonder. This is the dream that gives to me my
fame, while I'm running out of time, I know it's all part of the game….

As I laid down these feelings passionately upon my guitar, I was sending to you their messages knowing you'd be listening to them from near and from afar. Playing these beautifully flowing notes over and over within my mind, I was trying to capture within the melody the magic that surrounds you that I believe I have now been able to find. As it seems to me like it’s always been there through at least most of your life while keeping you constantly lonely and seemingly wasting so much of your life’s precious time.
Where’s the confident girl you used to be, the one with all of the style that everyone could see. Don’t you know on the inside you’re still the same, so put on that smile again and get back in the game….
Though it seems to me like the mystery of all of your sorrows that seem to be beyond what I can see, I do know you’re in there somewhere, and now it’s up to the words in my song to try and finally set you free. As well as finding your smile that’s always trying so hard to hide, that has sadly started to unwind with such little happiness left for you inside, and now you’ve become so lost that tranquility and serenity have now become almost impossible for your lonely heart to find....

I watch the colorful leaves as they dance the autumn breeze, seemingly unaware of the up and coming freeze. They seem so happy and so content as they hang out with the other trees. I wonder if they are looking back at me, and if so, what do you think they see? They seem so alive, so passive, yet so free, not concerned about tomorrow, or their life's destiny. Soon their branches will release them, floating away into the air, not knowing the fate that awaits them, leaving them lonely, cold, and scared. Now that the branches are alone, cold, and bare, with seemingly nothing left for them to share, I come back to this place quite often, letting them know how much I still care. ~Nick Nichols~
