Junior Mackenzie was formed when three worlds met by accident in a smoky pub in London no more than six months ago. A songwriter from Spain, a drummer from Norway and a bass player from Brazil , all of which had one thing in common. They all live in Barcelona.
When they returned to Spain less than a week went by before the three of them were gathered in a room with their respectable instruments, and from that instant they realised that they just had to make music together.
With Juan Fortea..s classical somewhat jazzy country influenced song writing and the ten year indie rock experience of both Stian Olsen (Beezewax, Norwegian indiepop veterans , with 5 albums, world wide touring and producernames such as Ken Stringfellow & John Agnello) and Edu Filomeno (Maybees/ Ludov, MTV awarded brazillian pop rock band), Junior Mackenzie offers a handful of groovy tunes benefiting the element of surprise through frenetic twist and turns where least expected, something that must be absorbed LIVE.
Taking the name from Juan..s long lasting and inspiring guitar teacher, who married a spanish lady and moved to Castellon after the 2nd World War, Junior Mackenzie is here to make you feel good through movement and to bring a new flavour to the music scene in the time to come.
