Sounds Like
Too country for the rockers, too rockin' for the cowboys!
Since forming in 2001, Junk Ditch Road continues growing a faithful following resulting from successful shows in the Phoenix metro area.
Many people have described JDR’s sound as bluegrass, but the members of the express that they can only aspire to be true pickers like those in the bluegrass scene. "Rock and Roll with a banjo is what we like to call it" says TJ Casey, guitarist for JDR. Terry Kottom, banjo and mandolin player for the band describes their approach as "more Joey Ramone than Bill Monroe!"
JDR’s debut CD features guitar, mandolin, banjo, and upright bass with a wide range of influences.
The band’s sophomore CD, titled Climbing Trees, is due for release May 1st and brings a slightly more electric feel compared to the first album. You can order the new cd by visiting the band’s website at www.junkditchroad.com and choosing the "Buy Stuff" link.

Make sure to let us know when you shift from changing diapers to jammin and come out to play. We are close to being parents but we will tow the kid with for some good tunes.
I paid my ten bucks. I got the JDR CD and to be honest.... you are not charging enough money! That CD never left our car for the remainder of our trip. I think we listened to it six or seven times in a row. Get Up Jake (always my fan favorite) was recorded flawlessly. Telluride is a wonderful audio snapshot of how fun Blues and Brews can be. Crooked Roads shows off Terry's unique vocal talents that come accross great on and off stage...
....but the icing on the cake has to be "It's Just You".... FUCK YOU TJ for making me cry in front of my woman! What a beautiful ballad. I can't think of a song that has touched me or my fiance like that. I said to her after our third or fourth listen that this will be the song we play for our first dance at the wedding.
Rainy Day ties cause I have had the demo on my jukebox for years and it's great to hear it all cleaned up..
Now, if you can quit your dayjobs and pack up the women and children and go full time... a man can wish..
Thanks for making my first CD purchase since 2005 the RIGHT one.
