About me:
JUN MATSUOKA was born in Kyoto but actually lived in Tokyo where he used to DJ mostly soul music 17 years ago (1989). He came to France seven years (1998) ago and recently joined the Plein Gaz Productions staff here in Lyon. He’s a co-fonder with DJ Spider of COLORBLIND, an electro-jazz live act that launched its first single “Swing It Up!” that a lot of DJs like Rainer Trüby (Compost), Mr Scruff (Ninja Tune), Nicola Conte (Schema), Nik Weston (Mukatsuku), Andrew Jarvis (Ubiquity), Zero dB (Fluid Ounce) are spinning and is recording an album. Like DJ Spider, his DJ performances are really eclectic, ranging from jazzy vocal tunes to UK’s finest hip-hop, via brazilian flavored stuff and breakbeat / electronic material. He’s artist director and resident DJ (and owner since 2003) at Club La Marquise in Lyon, where he plays with international venues of high standard. He started recently his radio show “Jazz Trip Radio show” in Frequence Jazz in Lyon, that is appreciated by many DJs, producers, labels of worldwide.
Since 2004 he joins to Patchworks Ginger Xpress and they released their first single “Brothers On The Slide”
