My name is Brien Bliatout. I'm currently an electrical designer at an engineering consultant firm here in Portland, OR, and I'm also studying for my master's degree in electrical engineering during the hours away from work. It's a busy life :-)
I started my career at Interface Engineering, where I was an intern for a couple of years as an undergraduate. After graduation, I stayed on board and became an electrical designer. Most of the work I did there dealt with the construction of residential and commercial type buildings, both remodels and new, but I did do some work on overseas projects that included power grid design. After some time at Interface, I moved on to Norwest Engineering, where I am currently working. Here at Norwest, I get to work on more industrial projects. If you have further interest in my professional experience and abilities, please contact me and I will send you my resume.
My main hobby is the practice of Shito-ryu Karate-do. It's been a big part of my life since I was a young child, and I continue to enjoy it today. I used to be an assistant instructor for Dave Fricks' Karate school in Portland, but he retired this year, and I have yet to find a new school to be part of. I am still quite passionate about Karate though, and I urge you to give it a try if you've never practiced a martial art before. You'll never know if it's meant for you or not if you don't try right?
