Emily Wilcox – Lead Vocals, Keys, Rhythm Guitar
Emily has also performed with the very popular band Cheap Voova, local club favorites for years.
Her vocal styles allow the band to cover a wide variety of music. Classicaly trained, her keys and guitar
add production to the song arrangements.
George Straffin – Lead Guitar, Vocals
George has played in several New England bands, and his rootsy guitar sound, along with an ear for
dance grooves sets the tone for the band. He brings the blues and funk into the mix.

the dance floor. He has drummed with many local acts, and his spirit and energy have added to the band's chemistry. His voice adds richness and depth to our sound.

Formed in 1992, our band Jupiter Ray has developed a signature sound covering classic hits and contemporary dance tunes in many south shore clubs. Over the years, we’ve also played numerous private events, weddings and local charities, as well as outdoor festivals and the Plymouth MDA (to
benefit Jerry’s kids) for the last 13 years.
Jupiter Ray has shared the stage with the legendary Rick Danko of The Band, and other national acts such as Entrain and Room Full Of Blues. Our covers include Aretha Franklin, U2, Van Morrison, Phish, The Beatles, James Brown, Rolling Stones and The Red Hot Chili Peppers, along with hundreds of others.
Jupiter Ray also has two CDs of original music that have received lots of airplay on WMVY 92.7 Martha’s Vineyard, WKPE Cape Cod’s Rock 104.7, and Pixy 103. However, we are more comfortable playing the local club scene in front of live crowds, dancing and partying into the night. We’re often
joined by special guests – some of the best musicians around, to spice up the sets and add surprises to every show.
Jupiter Ray is currently in the studio working with Dave Collins on new original material. We'll post some of it here on myspace very soon!
Sadness. Sadness is all I feel without Emily & Chris in my life (yes, Em does get top billing) I feel like wearing all black and writing sad poetry on black paper with a black pen. Will sunlight (aka: the Wilcox family) ever grace this sad soul again? Please tell me there is hope.
I am sending a note to tell you all that I am, in fact, practicing the freakin' CDs....Also...lovely weather we're having. Reminds me of the freakin' Grampian Mountains in bonny Scotland.
Chris and Emily, two of the nicest people I know on this crazy spinning blue... I truly can't wait to see the whole band in action!
Cheers my friends,
P
ok..strange irony...I think we played a gig with you guys in Plymouth, looong time ago..an MDA benefit...then your bass player ends up in Ginormous..with our ex-guitarist..small world :-)
