In early 2008, a musical experiment was put in motion between friends and acquaintances. The idea was to put together four musicians from diverse musical backgrounds and see what could happen. Within a few months, Jurojin was born. Featuring a rock singer, a classical Indian tabla player, a jazz bassist, and a metal guitar player, this unlikely combination has been gathering attention and critical acclaim since their live debut in June of 2008 at London’s Borderline club. With countless shows now under their belt, including a short US tour, an acoustic show at London’s prestigious Barbican Hall and a UK tour with metallers Sevendust in late 2008, Jurojin will be taking back to the stage in early 2010 in the run-up to their upcoming debut release.
Mixed and mastered in Baltimore by Drew Mazurek (Linkin Park, HIM, Nothingface), “The Living Measure of Time” will be officially released in spring of 2010.
“Though fairly early days, Jurojin display a diversity and originality that encompasses their eagerness to show how an Eastern influence can enhance a certain depth to their style of technical, alternative rock with progressive influence” – Classic Rock Magazine (Prog)
