Blurbs

About me:

Who I'd like to meet:

We are a political movement aimed at changing the fundamentals of politics in Britain. We seek to achieve this by getting a significant number of Independent MPs elected to Parliament. While this may sound a little boring, it could potentially affect all our lives in a very beneficial way.

Put simply, we think that government is currently being run for the benefit of the governing party (be they Labour or Conservative) – we believe Independent MPs will instead run it for the good of the people.

We are concerned that MPs almost always vote in the way their party instructs them, rather than how their heart and their head tell them. We believe Independent MPs will use their vote how their conscience tells them to.

We think that MPs are too easily tempted to behave badly when it comes to pay and expenses. We believe that Independent MPs will be easier to hold to account, and so less likely to use their privileged position to gain more of the taxpayer’s money than they should.

If you have policies that you would like to see implemented to make British politics more transparent, accountable and democratic, then add a comment, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

Change just isn’t enough – it’s time for a complete overhaul of the way politics is done.

Come and join us. Bring friends!

If you want to know more about our proposals, you should definitely visit our website. In addition, you can become a fan of us on Facebook at the following address: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Jury-Team/54545033315

If you are already a candidate, download the file in the 'My Share...' box on the left for tips on how to use MySpace to promote your campaign.

The Jury Team are proud to introduce you to our candidates. Each of the people pictured below attracted enough votes in our open primary to make the final party list for the European election. ta 4 the add - this sort of thing has been on my mind for a while
if you could send me whatever other info you got, i would be most grateful
one query: can an independant mp become the pm? or would you need all the independant mps to be in an "independant party" so that you get the majority of seats needed to have your party in power needed to have your party leader as mp?
if so, could you foresee an independant party made up of independant mps who although for the purposes of the political system all work as one party, are actually independant of each other and have independant agendas, etc.
    ?

thank you for getting the ball rolling, ill be v. interested to see how this develops, if i can/if you need me/if i have the time/skills/resources, id like to get involved...
    speak to you soon; frankie

The first thing on my agenda would be to implement a policy whereby all elected MPs would have to go through rigourous training and assessment, starting with living on benefits for a month in a council house. After enduring social exclusion and learning that human beings need to be treated with dignity and respect rather than allocated numbers and loaded onto the bureaucratic bandwagon, they'd have to pass a test on empathy to go onto the next stage. Then as with means tested benefits they would be made publicly accountable for all expenses they incur and no family or friends would be allowed to take up posts within their office.
Well thats a start i'm sure i'll think of more along the way ;)

Education is the key to changing all things wrong with britain today i say make it fair take out the thaturesk buissnes tabels thats not the point of learning and make citerzenship lessons compulasry as hate comes from ignorance, ignorance comes from lack of knowledge people need to fully understand each others cultures for the hate to stop!

You asked what i was corresponding with MP's about this time ... well the issue needing resolved is ... Geo-Thermal Site Regulating + Global Safety

Providing information for the regulatory bodies that regulate
the sighting of large scale Geo-thermal power plants.

To raise the issue of thermal imbalances in
the deep crust in close proximity to the magma layer.

The issue with this is major and is as follows: when irregular new
build-ups of rock occur in the crust it can cause imbalance and
    earthquakes.

The safest place to situate geothermal power stations is next to
naturally occurring reservoirs of magma on the fault lines of the
    tectonic plates.

I tried to raise with organisations who regulate the global positioning of geo-thermal power stations.

....... the results vary .. MP's show a distinct tendency to be egocentric ineffectual petty self absorbed futile paper passing excuses for governance. ... i find it extremely disappointing and the discussions are often handled with less resolve that high school debate teams .. with so few civil representatives ready to face up to real issues .. i suspect that the real issues will never be resolved .. .. .. i am disgusted with the activities of so called 'civilised' western countries .. and blame the collective lack of incite and action on the part the leaders of state for the current state of affairs. . . . .. as a performer you would think i would appreciate farce ... well not in the context of the houses of parliament.

  • Mar 18 2009 6:58 PM

alright, not exactly sure what it is your actualy doing, even after reading the about me, but sounds cool, and im looking to get a bit more politically active so whatever it is im in.
  • Mar 18 2009 10:47 AM

I spent the last 2 days communicating with 100s of MP's ... in answer to your question .. i suspect that if i was an MP i would be rendered ineffectual by the system of restraint and control that contains these supposed leaders of our peoples.
