  • Happy Holidays to You!

    Current mood:lethargic

I might get my paper New Year cards sent soon, but in case I don't, I created a PowerPoint slideshow and posted it on my genealogy blog:

  • Happy Birthday John

I made this silly video when John blew out the candles on his birthday pie!

A note about that "40" candle...John bought that for my 40th birthday, and we've been using it for every birthday since -- just adding extra candles to represent the extra years.

And BTW, I know my singing is bad

  • My Name Is Earl: "Little Bad Voodoo Brother"

    Current mood:amused

I've been feeling like I want to write in this blog more.

I've had something on my mind that I haven't had a place to discuss, so I thought, why not here?  This is going to be a comment about an episode of "My Name is Earl" which was shown on October 30.  John and I record all our favorite shows on the DVR to watch at our convenience, and because John was traveling a lot last month, we're way behind on our shows.  We just watched that particular episode of "Earl" last night.

The part that struck me was the very end, where Joy told Earl:

Good thing me and the minister scared the devil out of that
little freak.  Reverend Hawnsworth[?] thinks I have great
leadership skills -- says that God wants me to run for mayor.

Now John and I have been joking all during the past couple months that having Sarah Palin on the Republican ticket made us think of Joy Turner as a politician.  We about fell off our chairs when we heard Joy say that...it's like the writers were listening to our private conversations!

The entire episode was about a little boy who believed in Voodoo, and Joy led the angry mob who stormed where he was staying.  You all have heard of Gov. Palin's witch hunting pastor, haven't you?  If not, check out this video on YouTube:

Thomas Muthee Sermon: Why Sarah Palin? October 16, 2005

I expect this to be my last comment on the election here!
