I am a musician - my tastes vary.
  • Movies

"TICKS" is a feature-length stop-motion/C. G. I. animated film being created by yours truly through my production company, Tephramedia, and is expected to be completed by late 2010.
The film has been in production since January 1, 2008 and is involved in an on-going process of fundraising and promotion through the sale of media and art objects through my personal business website, private donations, and through fundraising/networking events.
    My Past Films:
    "PLATELETS: LEPIDOPTERAPHAGE"

    "TEPHRASECT"

    "ZUGSKIN"

    "TICKS" (in the works)

Donations from $1 to $5,000 (anything!) to help fund this film are tongue-kissingly appreciated. Feel free to send along any amount you might like to contribute and you will be included in the production credits as a fundee. Questions? Just ask me.
    ..

Eastern European and Russian stop-motion and traditional animated films from Jan Svankmajer (especially "Conspirators of Pleasure" and "Food"), Jiri Trnka (especially "The Hand"), and the rest.
    - Most German Expressionist cinema... with the exception of a few Fritz Lang films I give less than an ounce of urine about.
    - Several Peter Greenaway films
    - Early pioneering/silent films from the early 20th century from Georges Meiles and the rest.
    - A lot of surrealist/dada cinema from the early 20th century
    - I recently watched Philip Ridley's "Reflecting Skin" again after a couple of years... thirty years from now that film will be unearthed an examined as one of the great "unseens" - I promise.
  • Television

I don't often watch television - other than the History Channel. I do have some DVD television boxed sets. Twin Peaks, Batman: The Animated Series, Strangers with Candy, ... a few others. I like some comedy and a few oddball things.
  • Books

My books, "Expiration Date" and "Catalog of Absurdity" are on sale now for only $5 and $2 at www.JustinCurfman.com as ebooks for the first time. Cheap!

Medical history, comic books, Bruno Schulz, Alfred Kubin, Paul Leppin, Edward Carey, and on and on. I read everything, with the exception of crap genre novels.
  • Heroes

    Not interested...

Who I'd like to meet:

Hmmm... not really interested in celebrity-worship or idolatry... but if and when I happen to run across an artist whose work I admire I do enjoy chatting a bit for some advice or material.
