Spread over two nights in Dublin's Twisted Pepper, with artists from Norway, Paris, Denmark Dublin and London, The Bottlenote Festival 2009 is a major event for improvised music in Ireland.
The core festival programme presents four members from Bottlenote collaborating with four visiting European artists from Norway, Paris, Denmark and London chosen for their individualism, creativity and craft. The result is two nights of double bills featuring newly commissioned music for four new groups reflecting the cutting edge of contemporary jazz. The festival also presents two established Bottlenote groups, Bang Hazard and Lead Soup as well as laptop sets from Estonian sound artist Alo Allik and Dublin’s Eomac. Two educational workshops open to the public free of charge will run as part of Bottlenote Festival 09.
The festival showcases the work of Bottlenote musicians and promotes collaborative practice between Irish jazz musicians and their European counterparts, providing audiences with an exciting snapshot of the best new improvised music both across Europe and here in Ireland.

This debut album release from Togetherness is
an introduction to a relatively new Irish group with
real creative intent. Led by Pianist / Composer
Justin Carroll, the quartet is put through it's paces
with a programme of ten original compositions
characterized by shifts in meter and harmonic
explorations melodically articulated by tenor
saxophonist Michael Buckley and tightly integrated
with Simon Jermyn and Seán Carpio. The album
was recorded over two days at Windmill Lane
Studios in Dublin with sound engineer Thomas
Schmidt, and has been released by Livingroom Project.

Greetings and salutations. Nice to make your acquaintance, Justin. While the stated reason for our trip in December is to play some shows for folk, really we all just want to visit Ireland and wander about, seeing what it what. Hopefully we'll have time to do that.
If you're in Dublin this Sunday and have no plans...my album launch is on in the Cobblestone with band, brass and craic. Doors 9pm. Hope to see you there and if not, have a great weekend : ) gav
Hey Justin, Great to hear from you! Just getting this MySpace thing set up (about time eh??) terrible confusing if you don't speak html! Anyhoo am getting there! Any news? G
