“Justin Carter is a remarkable individual...Whatever Happened To Real Music is a breath of fresh air in an overcrowded genre...a non conventional diamond in the rough"
TN- Local Anaesthetic
Winning the Apollo Bay Music Festival Young Songwriters competition was a kick-start for this unique one-man band mixture of surf rock and country blues. With a harmonica strapped around his neck, guitar or lap steel in hand and toe tapping stomp box and tambo-drum under foot, his music is an explosive act.
Releasing his debut album “Whatever Happened To Real Music” at the Apollo Bay Music Festival a year later saw him selling out of the first 100 copies with great hype surrounding the fresh new talent. Within a month his tunes were heard on Triple J as well as many other stations, had been used in surf films, TV shows, advertisements, and had reviews in lifestyle magazines. Since then he has been spreading his good vibes to new and old fans all over Australia and has become a festival favourite, even being made a feature on Getaways coverage of the Queenscliff Music Festival.
With plans to head back to the studio later in 2008 Justin Carter is definatly one to keep an eye on.
"Other freshies to watch for included Simone Elias, Justin Carter and Little Red" - Forte Magazines Queenscliff Music Festival 2007 Review
"Songs inspired from everyday experiences, family and friends, Justin has put them together to create a unique soulful country sound with plenty of acoustics. Its a great CD to listen to on those hot summer nights while sitting on the porch, drinking good wine with good friends" - Curl Surfing Magazine New Zealand
