Justin Durrie has been earning his reputation as an in-demand bassist in Portland, Oregon's acclaimed jazz, Latin, and creative music scenes. Since moving to the Pacific Northwest from the east coast (Washington, D.C., New York City), he has worked as a sideman with many of the region's best musicians, notably the Alan Jones Sextet, Bob Mover Quartet, Randy Porter Trio, John Savage, Michael Stirling, David Ornette Cherry, The Diatic All-Stars, Pepe and the Bottleblondes, Invisible Rockets, Lo Nuestro and Caliente. Justin's current projects (beyond his continuing work with the above artists and ensembles) are revolving around his Khyal singing studies with his teacher, the astounding Michael Stirling, disciple of Pandit Pran Nath and Terry Riley.
