*John Mayer once wrote: "If you’re reading this (referring to his "Continuum" liner notes) with an instrument in your lap - get to work, and deep in it. We all need you" - that inspired me quite a bit also.
In the last year alone, Justin Klump has logged well over one hundred thousand miles touring the country in support of his most recent album, Thousand Mile Dream. With passionate vocals, virtuoso guitar playing and a candid humor on and off the stage, the 26 year-old Portland based Singer/Songwriter is stealing the hearts of audiences across the nation. Headlining theaters, clubs and colleges from coast to coast, and sharing the stage with notable acts such as Everclear, Matt Nathanson and Tyrone Wells, Justin is distinguishing himself as an artist on the rise.
The grandson of a Symphony conductor, Justin was raised with a love of music that is undeniably evident when watching him in concert. Whether playing solo, or with his band, the core of Justin's live show remains his "mastery of the guitar". Portland Classic Guitar declared Justin’s performances both "Stunning" and "Unforgettable!" while Entertainment World stated his musicianship and vocals "will knock your socks off!" His talent and respect for his craft are continually setting him apart in a Singer/Songwriter saturated industry. Justin has been tirelessly hitting the road for the last few years creating a buzz throughout the country. 101.9 KINK.fm noted, “He’s been playing to packed crowds around town, and now Justin’s creating a national following”.
In his home market, Justin’s songs have been voted onto 101.9 KINK.fm’s Plug In Portland compilation album for the past two years. This summer, with over 5,000 votes, Justin was selected to co-headline the Oregon Zoo 2009 Local Music Showcase. Drawing an impressive crowd of 2,300, Justin and his band delivered an inspiring and powerful performance at one of the Northwest’s premiere Summer Concert Series (B-52’s, Jewel, Amos Lee). In July, he was invited onto AM Northwest (ABC), a popular morning television program, to perform his song “Slowly Changing”.
Justin’s Thousand Mile Dream delivers acoustic folk-pop tendencies interlaced with intricate guitar play, and emotional vocals on each of the 11 tracks. Opening with the anthemic “Someday Soon”, moving through the infectious “A Song for You” and closing with the poignant “Madeline”, the album is filled with honest lyrics, refined songwriting and solid production. Willamette Week penned Justin “a subtle lyricist with a simple, endearing voice that delivers near perfect summertime tunes”, and Seattle P.I. wrote "acoustic guitar and heart-on-sleeve lyrics will make you wish you'd never stopped keeping that personal journal”. With a true passion and dedication to his craft, Justin is paving his way as a must-see artist to watch for years to come.

Willamette Week (Portland, OR)
“With his classical guitar background and simple and personal lyrics, Klump pens nice pop numbers that are catchy and deep. Klump's sound is familiar but at the same time, it's got a noticable distinction from the rest of the stuff you usually hear in the pop world.” Music Emissions
“Klump looks into people’s hearts and souls, and he manages to put some of the most conflicting feelings into words.”

The Mast (Tacoma, WA)
“Six years is all that it’s taken for solo artist Justin Klump to master the acoustic guitar.”
The Daily Evergreen (Pullman, WA)
"23 year-old singer-songwriter Justin Klump made some very wise investment choices as a very young man...obviously earning some artistic capital in the process. Like John Mayer, Hootie & the Blowfish and Dashboard Confessional, there's an intellectual maturity to his brand of radio-ready pop."
