Originally from Steady Brook, Newfoundland, a wondrous magical place to spend your developing years, I now call the concrete jungle that is Toronto home, where I play guitar & bass.
I graduated in 2002 from St. FX University with a piece of paper that tells me I can fumble through jazz changes, I still wonder. (The official title is B.Music Jazz Performance). After that I lived in a cabin by the ocean where I looked at trees and played cards & darts before moving to Toronto in 2005 in search of more musical opportunity.
Upon arriving in Toronto I started playing with ex I Mother Earth singer & childhood friend Brian Byrne, whose band has included musicians such as Gerry Finn (David Usher), Christian Tanna (I Mother Earth), and Bob Egan (Wilco/Blue Rodeo). I’ve also been fortunate enough to share the stage/floor/party/sing along with Tara Oram, The Divorcees, Melissa McClelland, Blair Harvey, Steven Lee Olsen, Damhnait Doyle, and many others…
I’ve had the pleasure of opening for great folks such as Taylor Swift, INXS, Dwight Yoakam, Collective Soul, Matt Mays & El Torpedo, Corb Lund & The Hurtin’ Albertans, Johnny Reid, Blackie & the Rodeo Kings, Sam Roberts, The Roadhammers and many others, as well as tour the country a few times, play some cool venues & festivals, big and small, shoot some music videos, play some TV and radio shows etc…
I now play with "Tara Oram", distort bass with "northamorica" and play in a bunch of other bands. I once played & recorded with "The Evelyn Room", "Great Diviners" & "Coastguard", but I was younger then. I have a million melodic ideas in my head, which should become music at some point. I'll put something out soon.
I like Fender Amps, Telecasters & Jazz basses, and enjoy a Gibson acoustic.
Hi!!Justin!! Thank you for the add!! How are you?? I practice playing the guitar everyday. I composed new music. If you like, Please listen to my music.
Hi Justin. Recently some spam was sent out from my account. If it was sent to your inbox don't pay it any mind. Really digging the Evelyn Room songs. I listen to them at work, along with Rob Crowells stuff. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing!
Hey Man, the internet world tells me it's your birthday soon, so have a good one. We just sailing around Cape Horn, the bottom of south america, pretty cool... and cold!
Hey man, hows it going? Its been a while since we have last communicated. Buckle and I were reminiscing about the Junky Monks the other night, and I so ummm....yeah, hi. Hows it all going anyways? I hear you are gettin it on (musically) with Fillatre Randell and Mercier, sounds good, cant wait to hear the results.
Hey Dude, Well I'm not in Toronto yet, sailing in Alaska again this summer. (Will I be? I don't know!!) I meet up with Eric in one port every 2 weeks, he's working on a different ship. Practicing alot and getting my acoustic chops together again. I get to use it for some sets and sit in with the jazz trio onboard. Happy Canada Day, hope things are going well! peace out, Limey
