Band MembersJust me..... VIRGO You like life in little boxes. Look at your closets. But the fact is, life is chaotic, or rather a series of rhythmic ebbs and flows, the surrender to which elicits a fuller range of feeling and thus increased understanding of your emotional intelligence. Or dare we say genius: this may articulate the hot and heavy sentiments of your soul. "The most impressive performance comes from Justin Mortelliti as Dylan Klebold. Mortelliti embraces Klebold, a confirmed killer, and does not judge him. He does a beautiful job with his monologues which may or may not have been some of Klebold's poetry. He made me sympathize with the juvenile poetry that pours from so many of America's troubled youths. Mortelliti is a natural and he took me with him." InfluencesEvery artist whose music I've heard has had influence on me in some way I'm sure.
Sounds LikeIn this day and age, finding new genres and fresh sounds in music can be difficult if not impossible. Weve heard it all from folk to death metalfrom opera to country. It seems there could be no new types of music. However, we are truly lucky when we find a perfect blend of musical synthesis that transcends any classification. Justin Mortellitis sound is that perfect synthesis. His songs arent targeted for any specific group, for examplejust teens, just pop or just adult contemporary. His work is for everyone who appreciates good music. The best way to describe his music is to listen to it and let the many feelings overwhelm you. The bluesy-jazzy riffs in The Fall are a perfect compliment to Justins rich crisp vocals. His fresh and original lyrics are tantalizingly poetic, Quiet deafens me, wants to fracture me, the roaring within A perfect song to contemplate to, take a drive along the coast, or slow dance in front of a fire. Today is reminiscent of that late 70s early 80s electric vocal sound, a style that is sadly not recognized by younger generations today. But being from that era, you cant help but listen, smile and fondly remember your youth. This quintessential Mortelliti rock/pop piece captures a wonderful feeling of yesterday and inspiration for tomorrow while living Today Mortellitis great vocal range is most prominent in Know That I which is an example of his lyrical genius as well. This is just what the music scene needs again, that fresh, raw quality the singer/songwriters movement had in the 1970s. Lines like overflow into the twilights disco are subject to an audiences interpretation while at the same time the music is deliciously nostalgic with thoughts of old friends and good times. His songs are so versatile, they can bring you back and inspire your future at the same time. And finally, if it is possible for a composition to surround you and hug you, You Amaze Me is the one. Justins melodies drift through the speaker to your ear and you cant help but smile and be taken in. It is quite an inspiration in this decade of pop idols, and young talent that dont write any of their own music or songs that fresh original artists like Justin Mortelliti are out there. He is truly up and coming and one to look for as this trend of disposable pop culture fades and we retrospect to true quality in music. His excellence in defying any categorization is what appeals to true fans of the art of music. His versatility and range will put him on the map and defines what it means to be a classic.    About Justin=Mo
I am Justin Mortelliti.  Since I was very young, music was always a huge part of my life. My parents infused my brothers and me with music around the house from their era of the 60's and 70's and the pop-rock explosion of the 80's was our stomping ground.  Singing was always a great expression for me, how ever much it annoyed my brothers. I was told at a young age how important music was and my parents forced my brothers and me to learn the violin once we each were 8 years old. This quickly became a muse for me, a passion and my life. My father, the deacon at our church also started the choir and became their leader.  Aside from the usual organ, he incorporated electric guitar, trumpet, violin and every other instrumentalist he could find.  Which was unusual in the Catholic Church.  And so my inspiration for music began as a kid, watching my dad in action and singing around the house with him and his guitar. And I grew up, learning and loving music and song, the healing it can bring, the expression it can inspire and the good times it can bring. I think in todays music scene there is a lack of real artistry in the main stream market. With the music thats being listened to, people arent made to think.  And isnt that the main point of a good song, to evoke thought and feeling?  Id like to find a way to bring feeling and thought back into the main stream market.  To actually say something with my music.  The music Ive been recording is in a modern rock style but Id love to use bits from all aspects of music that I love.  Infusing elements of soul, jazz, hard rock, classical, electronic, hip-hop...whatever feels good at the moment, while working with different producers to create a sound that resonates in me and can therefore resonate in others.  There is no style of music that Im not willing to linger into.  Lyrics and the artistry of a song are also very important to me.  I choose to slide in and out of different voices.  Its my way of communication.  I like tapping into parts of myself that I may not tap into in my day to day life, and theres no better way to do that than to embody it in a song.  The greatest thing about music is putting it out there for people to figure out.  You want the listener to find the song on their own.  If you give too much away, it takes away from the imagination.  And sometimes, our imagination is the key to ourselves. I believe that right now in my life I have a lot to say, a lot to feel, and a lot to share.  Id like to use music to do that and I am confident that I am ready to jump in and create something magical.  And of course have a lot of fun while Im doing it.
