A professional musician for nearly fifteen years, Justin Murphy has distinguished himself as one of the most talented practitioners of Irish traditional flute in the US. Recognized by Dirty Linen Magazine as, "...one of the best flute players around,” he has been a long-standing member of both the New Orleans-based Irish band, The Poor Clares, and the traditional Irish, Jackson, MS based band, Legacy. Accompanying himself on guitar and bodhrán, Justin also performs as a solo vocalist in the Washington, DC area. He recently relocated from New Orleans where he worked as a house musician at the famous O’Flaherty’s Irish Channel Pub since 1990. From foot-stomping jigs and reels to pub favorites and historic Irish songs in the tradition of Planxty and Paul Brady, Justin’s performances offer a slice of Irish music that’s hard to beat.

Happy Day~ Met two new girlfriends, one on myspace then she recognized me out yesterday. So I was the DD and we went to Flagstaff and listened to Irish music all night, got home at 2:30 A.M. this morning, too old for this!
