"World Color" Music Video for my great friends, Fatback Circus. I was the Production/Lighting Designer for the video, and it's some of my best work.

I am a very hard-working director with high ambitions and a lot of passion for what I do.

I enjoy strange and cult-like film, 80's horror & sci fi, children's television, old school games, nostalgia, all kinds of rock--experimental, symphonic, hard, soft, punk, and I really dig trip-hop....

I've been with my fiance, Laurel, for 8 amazing years that just keep getting better. We make our friends puke we're so cute.

Rare 70's and 80's B horror, grindhouse style action flicks, John Carpenter, shlock, cheese, stylish rare gems (Argento), classic action/scifi/horror, kid's shows from when I was a kid.

A few of them, in NO order whatsoever:

Zombabies, Hazmat J and the Birth of the Apocalypse, Uzar's Revenge, May, The Woods, Roman, Cigarette Burns, Brain Damage, anything by John Waters, the Terminator series, John Carpenter's Assault on Precint 13 (1976), The SAW series, Re-Animator, The Crow, Pain is Beauty, the Puppet Master Series, Demonic Toys, My Bloody Valentine, Chopping Mall, Indiana Jones trilogy (nervous about the new one), George Romero's The Crazies, Big Fish, Dawn of the Dead ('78), Day of The Dead, Land of the Dead, Galaxy Quest, Shaun of the Dead, The TREMORS series, Star Wars (Ep. III through VI), Suspiria, Inferno, Deep Red, Bird W/ The Crystal Plumage, Opera, Phenomena, Trauma, the Psycho films (minus the blasphemous remake), Hellraiser I & II, The Deadly Spawn, Bubba Ho-tep, Pumpkinhead, Mountaintop Motel Massacre, Maniac Cop trilogy, 28 Days/Weeks Later, John Carpenter's Escape From New York, Phantasm (the whole series), The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Phase IV, SLITHER, Sin City, Harry Potter (all), DIE HARD, Donnie Darko, Frankenhooker, The Goonies, Popcorn, An American Tail, Tim Burton's Ed Wood, Plan 9 From Outer Space, Edward Scissorhands, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, Wrong Turn 1 and 2, Basket Case Trilogy, Critters I & II, Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, Return to Oz, Cobra, Seven, The Machinist, Short Circuit, Pi, Hot Fuzz, El Mariachi (I don't like Desperado for some reason though), RL Stine's The Haunting Hour, Monsters Inc, Ratatouille, Red Dragon/Silence of the Lambs/Hannibal, lots of live action children's films, Ghostbusters (!), Back to the Future Trilogy (!), Leprechaun 1-3, the Jim Henson/Frank Oz Muppet films (these new ones have no heart and are too vulgar for kids), and by now you probably get the idea...

Basically, I love to explore creative worlds shown in film that can't take place in our own. Be it high or low budget, I don't care. I like watching something if it's so bad it's good. Many of my favorite, really rare movies haven't even been released on DVD, which is why I still love VHS and espescially rare laserdiscs!

TelevisionSimpsons...big time.
BooksSadly, I'm way too visual. Though I love to read, I haven't finished a big book in way too long. Got any good suggestions? I'd love to sit down when I have time and read a book.
HeroesLaurel is and will always be the most inspirational person in my life, and she's always here for me, and constantly helps me out and encourages me. I can't think of anyone in my life who's more heroic.

About me:
..

The greatest treasure in my life. Eight years and stronger than ever.

Writer/Director/Editor

You Are 3: The Achiever
You're confident and competent - with a lot of energy. Eager to reach your goals, you are ambitious and competitive. You are good at motivating yourself and motivating others. You're also a charmer, with a great sense of humor.

Thank you for visiting my page! I'm an Austin-based filmmaker directing films like the ones I love--all the crazy, ultra-stylized sci-fi and horror films I grew up on, whether they're hilarious, dead serious, over the top, intriguing, melodramatic, or just plain goofy.

Some very close friends/filmmakers and I are are in production of "The Avengers of the Apocalypse", a feature length series of short zombie comedies taking place in the same world. We are also prepping "Violet", which will be my first full length classically structured feature. You can read more about that in my blog, or by visiting Violet's new page.

I currently am working the next several months at Troublemaker Studios in the FX department while also still working hard on Avengers of the Apocalypse and towards getting Violet ready. My latest film, ZOMBABIES, a zomedy set in a baby nursery during the outbreak of the zombie apocalypse, is complete, and it is definitely my best work to date. ZOMBABIES is the first episode in the "Avengers" series. It premiered at the Alamo Drafthouse's Dismember the Alamo short zombie film competition, and proudly took home the Audience Favorite Award by a landslide vote among almost 400 viewers. It also recently received a wonderful five-star review at Dread Central!

The next episode is called "Hazmat J and the Birth of the Apocalypse", which in my opinion is even better than Zombabies now. We expect to finish Hazmat J by the end of next month, if things go well. This film has been more work than anything I've ever done before, by a long shot.

To read more about ZOMBABIES, including where to see it in festivals and when to get a DVD, and to find out all about the upcoming episodes, check out it's new MYSPACE PAGE!

Congrats on the new gig, there are some very cool and some very talented folks there! Shake is a really cool software, the node based GUI takes a little while to get used to, but it's a good one to have in your toolbox!
