A short history: Justin Trawick was born on January 22nd, 1982 in Leesburg, VA. In eighth grade he discovered his father’s guitar under the stairs of his old house, in college he wrote songs for a band called “Woodburn Road” (he didn’t sing though because his girlfriend at the time said he had a bad voice), and in 2005 Justin started playing open mics around the Washington DC, Virginia, and Maryland area. Thus ends the history lesson.
Now 2009, Justin and his live band the “Justin Trawick Group” have opened for such artists and bands as Blues Traveler, Bob Schneider, Brett Dennen, Sara Bareilles, Pat Green, The Gourds, Larry Keel, Jill Sobule, The Duhks, Hackensaw Boys, Tyrone Wells, Edwin McCain, Ernie Halter, Curtis Peoples, Emmet Swimming, Last Train Home, Ingram Hill, Corey Harris, Robinella, Cowboy Mouth, Jimmies Chicken Shack, and even the Ying Yang Twins. He won the “Emerging Artist Competition” at the 2006 Takoma Park Folk Festival, has gone on several East Coast tours, and performed at almost all the major area venues including the 930 Club (three times), Kennedy Center (three times) Birchmere, State Theatre, and multiple sold out shows at IOTA and Jammin Java. Justin has released two albums and most recently an EP entitled "Starting Over", which was released 2009.
Lastly, thanks so much for coming to Justin Trawick’s MySpace page. Take a moment to look around and check out his schedule to see if he’s performing near you. Listen to the songs and watch some of the YouTube videos. If you feel so inclined, sign up for his mailing list so you can be notified of new shows, upcoming albums, and get access to free music only found only on www.justintrawick.com/bananasaregross. Feel free to search his name in iTunes where you can find his music or create a “Justin Trawick” radio station on www.pandora.com (which Justin personally thinks is the best website ever). If you feel like venturing away from MySpace, go to www.justintrawick.com where you can stream all his music for free. Or hey…you could always just google his name and see what you find (which will include a “Justin Trawick” in Alabama that apparently is quite the track star!!!…nice job dude!).
Anyway, thanks for your time and all your support and we’ll see you on the road at one of Justin’s shows!!!
