..As children, Frankie Cavalese and Callie Mason were the very best of friends, growing up together on opposite walls of a row home in a blue-collar neighborhood of Philadelphia called Rainytown. The friendship they shared was special - the kind that storybook heroines had - and neither ever considered the possibility of it not lasting forever. But after high school, life interfered and circumstances separated them as they each went on to live drastically different lives.
Twenty-three years later, one hot Rainytown summer, the lives of these women suddenly come crashing back together. To complicate the fragile reunion, Callie's marriage is suddenly at risk, further complicated by the affections of (and attraction to) Frankie's brother, Paulie. Tensions and passions explode in the sweltering heat, and amidst pain and tragedy, each woman not only ends up with a life-altering secret regarding the other, but the burning question of what to do with it.
PRAISE FOR CROOKED MOON:Lisette Brodey skillfully balances and juggles plot and character development in Crooked Moon, giving the reader deliciously likable and menacingly evil characters interacting within a story that threatens to destroy all their lives. After reading Crooked Moon, you'll think twice about what you know about yourself.
Above left, is my youngest and most handsome reader yet! Mr. Lucas Earl! Can you tell he's really into CROOKED MOON?
To the right is Spencer from New Orleans. He loves CROOKED MOON so much he's drooling over it! What a boy!

My latest novel, SQUALOR, NEW MEXICO: Darla McKendrick is nine when she first hears her mother and her aunt Didi secretly discussing their younger sister, Rebecca, speculating about her life in squalor. From the moment Darla asks to know more about her mysterious aunt, she is offered nothing but half-truths, distortions, and evasions.
As Darla grows into her teen years, her life is oddly yet profoundly affected by this woman she has never known. She can’t help but notice that Rebecca seems to exist only in dark corners of conversations and that no one ever wants to talk about her—with Darla. Neither Darla nor her three cousins have a clue about their aunt, yet their respective parents appear to recoil in fear at the sound of her name.
SQUALOR, NEW MEXICO is a coming-of-age story shrouded in family mystery. As the plot takes twists and turns, secrets are revealed not only to Darla but to the “secret keepers” as well. Darla learns that families are only as strong as the truths they hold and as weak as the secrets they keep.
The Kindle (eBook) edition of this novel is out NOW! Print edition to be published late spring/early summer 2009!

..T-Bone & Dingy Angel for being smart, amazing women who have survived so much yet continue to fight for themselves and those they love. And my late, great friend, Peggy Cass who I wish were still with us.
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST: Saki, Charles Roth (Mister) & Dara Brodey.
I have been writing since I can remember. Growing up, I was always writing something. I created many a little magazine, wrote piles of poems, began several books, stories and was always an avid letter writer. However, despite my strong proclivity to write, my youthful dream was to be an actress. I majored in Drama for a while and did some theater, but I knew that I was much better suited to be a writer. Of course, many who know me well will maintain I AM an actress, but it's not the career I sought out. :-)
I went through a lot of ups and downs with my writing. I went through long periods where I couldn't write. Being truly introspective and then being honest with myself helped me to figure out how to write a novel from beginning to end. I have two completed novels. Both CROOKED MOON and SQUALOR, NEW MEXICO are available in both the trade paperback & Kindle editions on Amazon.com. I am currently working on a third novel, and have many other projects in the works. I also have a play, which I wrote many years ago, BARRIE HILL REUNION, which some day I might just novelize. I keep notebooks with all of my ideas. It freaks me out to go anywhere without something to write with and something to write on!
I have a very eclectic group of wonderful friends. Each and every one of them is very important to me; each person has his/her unique gifts to share and I never take any of them for granted.
I'd like to meet many of my dear friends that I know so well, yet have never met in person.
On MySpace, first and foremost, I'd like to meet nice people. I like sincere, intelligent, funny, thoughtful, open-minded people of all ages and backgrounds. Especially those who love animals and people involved in literary/artistic pursuits! I am a huge supporter of musicians, but I'm not really interested in any more requests from bands or singers who simply want me to be one more number on their page. What's the point?
I GREATLY prefer it when would-be friends take a moment to include a note with their friend requests. If I have no clue why someone is contacting me, I will deny the request. Thank you.
If you want me to accept you as a friend, just so that you can immediately plaster an advertisement on my page, please don't send me a request. I love hearing from people, but my comment section is not a billboard for strangers to use at their whim. Thank you.
Here's a new video by my favorite group, ONE BLOCK RADIUS for their new song, BROKE ASS HOLIDAY! Check it out!

Hi Lisette, just sending you a bit of a christmas feeling,we got the cold, but not the snow yet..hoping for a white christmas here!Hope you do have an enjoyable christmas time in your corner of the world..hugs and smiles to you..Kate
Thanks! I'm on the last leg of my latest novel, and finishing it will be my present to myself. We started out with freezing rain today and slick roads, then cold rain, and now the sun is poking out. I miss last week's lovely snow. The childrens' Christmas program is at the church this evening. My grandbabies are singing Away in the manger. Too cute.
Thank you, Lisette! I'm glad to be back. I'm glad you enjoyed Jill's wedding video. When she broke down and became so emotional, there wasn't a dry eye in the house! What a day!
Hello Lisette. To thank you for your support and friendship, we’re recorded a Christmas song for free download. You can hear and download it directly from MySpace, but for a high bit-rate, near CD quality download, go to http://www.templecloudcountryclub.co.uk/xmas2009
On this date, December 8, The Feast of the Immaculate Conception is celebrated, as well as the enlightenment of Buddha. "Buddha" means "awakened one" or "enlightened one."
To enjoy good health, to bring true happiness to one's family, to bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one's own mind. If you can control your mind, you can find the way to Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to you.
Whatever your religious beliefs, on this day I'm wishing you Enlightenment, lighting the way to love and peace!
So great to hear from you! All is well, thank you and I am writing and recording like crazy at the moment! How are you? I hope you are being fabulously creative?!
Wishing you the most amazing week! Winter is certainly here!!
