justmegan...Our music sounds like no other as far as we’re concerned. We believe it is our own creative fusion of rock, surf, blues, classic-rock, grunge, new wave, and powerpop. :) You be the judge! However, Megan’s vocals have been compared to anyone from Pat Benatar to Tracy Chapman. She has also been compared to Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac, Chrissy Hynde of the Pretenders, Blondie, Joan Jett, Jewel, Ani Difranco, Sheryl Crow, Lisa Marie Presley, Aimee Mann of Til Tuesday. Berlin, and Patti Smith. Most recently, Megan was compared to Karen Carpenter and Mazzy Star. :)

In the arts, Megan is a lyricist, composer, arranger, performer, photographer, graphic artist, literary editor, parallel to acquiring a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, as well as interning at local schools in western Pennsylvania. Where some may find in this list an odd mix of interest and pursuits, a closer examination will reveal complimentary passions; zeal for her art, love for children, devotion to her family, and compassion for people she encounters. Often with newly released CDs, there is a propensity by popular media to liken it, whether complimentary or critical, to previous works or to other artists’ projects. And though this writer could draw some parallels, it would simply take away from the heart, flesh, and bone embedded in the tracks, and the ability of this CD, I Get What I Want by justmegan, to stand on its own two feet. From the up-beat tempo and contrasting lyrics of the title track, to the southern gulf sound of Color of the Breeze, to the driving faze-shifting wah-wah arrangement of No Places to Run, to the soft cool duet of vocal and harmonica in Don’t Go Away, to the conclusive solid track of Better Days, there is a resulting culmination making the crafted project into woven strands of music, lyrics, and vocals.
