Hell I dunno...if The Band had kept on playing rockabilly and jammed with Johnny Cash and Murray Mclauchlan and The Flying Burrito Bros...I'll come up with something more clever later...
RAY HARRIS was conceived in Bancroft, born in Bowmanville, and grew up back & forth between rural Pontiac County and Ottawa. He has been playing the bars, pubs, henhouses and outhouses of the Ottawa and area music scene in one form or another for about 30 years. About 15 years ago, he made a decision to start playing only music he liked - gravitating towards rootsy, honest, heart on your sleeve stuff like Gram Parsons, Tom Russell, Hank Williams, Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash, The Byrds - to name a few faves - following a road which now finds him doing vocals/guitar/mandolin as one third of the Sun Bleached Skulls. Somewhere in there he started writing songs and has recently recorded "I'd Rather Take The Train", "Shawville Girl" and others for that long-procrastinated CD project.
Hey Ray, Thanks so much for the add. Your music is great and you have great taste too! Be sure to visit my tribute page to The Blue Shadows and listen to the songs of 'the band that scared Nashville'. Take care.
Ray and any other Waycrossers, check out on my fav friends, Rob McNurlin, a real friend of mine from Kentucky, his writing is great, and he delivers the goods. m
