  • Bio

........ Jute draws from a thousand different spectrums to combine a delicate beauty with an ever-present hope for artistic and social insurrection. This Chicago band has released a CD that bridges the gap between rock, electronic, and dj/dance without losing any of the charm of each genre. .. .. Hypnotic beats, layers of textured guitars, rolling basslines, languid female vocals--the songs are lush soundscapes with dripping vocals. Intelligent music for the age of uncertainty. .. .. .................................................................................... .. .. Jute's songs have been licensed to MTV and VH1 for use as background/soundtrack music for the shows Road Rules, The Real World, The Inferno, The Gauntlet, Extreme Challenge and Born to Diva. As well as the European reality sports show "Skate Maps". .. .. In the Spring of 2004, Jute, recorded the score for the film "Carnival of Desires." The film, directed by Mark Miremont, can be described as:: "abstract, bizarre, stylised vision of beauty something like ManRay's surrealist films from the 1920's. A montage of erotic still photos come to life". .. .. ................................ .. The quick take..... .. .. Jackal Blaster Webzine says :: A Violent Narcotic is fantastic, exciting, and beautiful material, and Jute is absolutely one of the very best bands i have heard in a while. Highly recommended. .. .. Altar Magazine says :: Moody, deep, smokey, thick, layered, ethereal vocals. Clean but complex, smooth but intriguing with well constructed songs and rhythms that have a certain something that says... this is Jute, not one of a million other bands. .. .. BabySue Magazine says :: Wonderful stuff here, particularly when you consider the fact that the band is doing it all on their own. Bewildering and satisfying. .. .. Maximum Ink says :: You will need your "Violent Narcotic" fix again and again. And again. I know. I am a Jute junkie. .. .. Jennifer Layton of www.Indie-Music.com :: This band creates seductive electronica that envelopes and challenges, teases and demands. I feel like I'm part of a ceremony. .. .. .. ................................ .. .. www.juteband.com .. www.cdbaby.com/cd/jute .. www.tower.com .. www.projekt.com .. www.middlepillar.com .. www.amazon.com .. www.pingthings.com .. www.itunes.com .............................. ..............................

Sexy, passionate, angelic vocal lines. Like yin and yang, a perfect balance of dark and light. They achieved their goal to bridge the gap between electronic/dj bands they loved, like Massive Attack and DJ Shadow, and rock bands they admired, including Jane’s Addiction and Tool. With the vocal style of Curve or Cocteau Twins, the blend of sound is complete.
