Das Jugendzentrum in Selbstverwaltung 'Friedrich Dürr' (JUZ) in der Neckarstadt ist für Jugendliche und junge Erwachsene ab 14 Jahren, die eigenverantwortlich Ideen und Interessen in einem demokratisch selbstverwalteten Rahmen verwirklichen wollen.
D.h. Ausgangspunkt sind junge Menschen, die gemäß ihren Fähigkeiten, Bedürfnissen und Interessen den Raum und das Angebot im JUZ selbst gestalten. Das JUZ entstand im Zuge der Jugendhausbewegung Mitte der 70er Jahre und zeichnet sich seit 33 Jahren als Raum für Partizipation, Vielfalt, Kommunikation und Kreativität auf der Grundlage antifaschistischer, antirassistischer und antisexistischer Werte aus.
Veranstaltungen im JUZ umfassen ein breites kulturelles Programm mit Partys, Konzerten, Ausstellungen und Lesungen sowie ein umfangreiches Bildungsangebot mit politischen Informationsveranstaltungen, Vorträgen und Workshops zu verschiedenen Themen.
So fanden Beispielsweise 2005 insgesamt 157 Veranstaltungen mit rund 15.000 BesucherInnen statt.

Crucial Attack Records: State Of Mind – Mental Gold Pre-Orders!!
Originally inspired by bands like Maximum Penalty, Breakdown, Fahrenheit 451 and Leeway, State of Mind have been playing groovy NY styled hardcore since 2005. Now, four years later, the band present their second full length album entitled MENTAL GOLD, to be released by Crucial Attack Records.
It’s a new chapter in the history of a band that has previously released a demo, two 7 inches and a full length. The release marks expansion, musically as well as lyrically. Influences ranging from hip hop to classic rock can be found, while on the lyrical side they take a critical stance towards passiveness and lack of awareness in today’s society. Not very surprising for a hardcore band, you might think, but it’s turning into a rare feature these days.
Crucial Attack Records is now taking pre-orders for State Of Mind – Mental Gold LP/CD. You can order the gatefold LP on limited blue vinyl or on white vinyl. The releasedate for the record is May 16, when State Of Mind will play with True Colors and Bitter End at the Trix, Antwerpen (Belgium).
