Jose Vazquez-Cofresi "Manos de Hierro" endorses: TYCOON PERCUSSION (congas/tumbadoras), REMO (conga skins), and HUMES & BERG (conga cases). "Manos de Hierro" in english means "Iron Hands".
Jose Vazquez-Cofresi "Manos de Hierro" is a respected conguero/composer in the salsa music industry. Jose began to play congas in his early teens and continued until forming his first salsa band at the age of 17. In the first salsa project was co-owner of La Excelencia; Julian Silva. Both Jose and Julian had bigger plans and united to form a 2nd salsa orchestra that would tour the US. After much success Jose and Julian were offered a recording deal in New York City. Unfortunately the recording company went under and a few of the musicians moved on as well. Determined to bring salsa dura back to a new generation, Jose & Julian created the now successful salsa orchestra; La Excelencia. The salsa orchestra released it's first CD "Salsa Con Conciencia" which took the salsa world by storm in 2006/2007. La Excelencia is currently working on the 2nd CD to be released in late 2008 early 2009.
