About me: Row, row, row your boat,
Gently down the stream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
Life is but a dream.
Shakyamuni Buddha said to his disciple Rabjor, "All phenomena are like an illusion and a dream". The reason why the Buddha said this is that whatever manifests is subject to change and dissolution; nothing is inherently solid, permanent, separate, continuous, or defined. If you see the world as solid, you tie yourself up with a rope of entanglement and are constrained and pulled [like a dog] by compulsion as your lead.
~His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche~
Samsara is the tendency to find fault with others
~Naropa~
If someone dreams and doesn't realize he is dreaming, he is relating to his dream mistakenly; if he dreams and knows he is dreaming, he relates to his dream unmistakenly; and if he realizes the ultimate nature of his dream, he rests in the reality beyond conceptual fabrication. The Buddha is inconceivable like the sky. We assign the sky a center and boundary according to our range of vision, but in reality it is limitless.

All these forms that appear to eyes that see,
All things on the outside and the inside,
The environment and its inhabitants
Appear, but let them rest where no self's found;
Perceiver and perceived when purified
Are the body of the deity, clear emptiness—
To the guru for whom desire frees itself,
To Orgyen Pema Jungnay I supplicate.
~Excerpt from Guru Rinpoche's Supplication That All Thoughts Be Self-Liberated~
"There are times to cultivate and create, when you nurture your world and give birth to new ideas and ventures.
There are times of flourishing and abundance, when life feels in full bloom, energized and expanding.
And there are times of fruition, when things come to an end. They have reached their climax and must be harvested before they begin to fade.
And finally of course, there are times that are cold, and cutting and empty, times when the spring of new beginnings seems like a distant dream.
Those rhythms in life are natural events.
They weave into one another as day follows night, bringing, not messages of hope and fear,
but messages of how things are."..
..~Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche~..
Whoever knows this life to be like the reflection of the moon in water,
Whenever happiness arises will not be attached,
Whenever suffering arises will not be depressed,
And will attain true inner peace.

“Work at the boundaries of experience, the constrictions of conditioning and limiting beliefs. The mind is amazing: it can do this. Your identity is more flexible than you can imagine. You simply need to be aware of the possibility of changing experience and identity and then it is a real possibility. If you believe that you cannot do something, then usually you cannot. It is a very simple point and one that is very important. The moment you say you can do something you have already begun. ” – Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche –
“An analogy for bodhichitta is the rawness of a broken heart. Sometimes this broken heart gives birth to anxiety and panic, sometimes to anger, resentment, and blame. But under the hardness of that armor there is the tenderness of genuine sadness. This is our link with all those who have ever loved. This genuine heart of sadness can teach us great compassion. It can humble us when we’re arrogant and soften us when we are unkind. It awakens us when we prefer to sleep and pierces through our indifference. This continual ache of the heart is a blessing that when accepted fully can be shared with all. ”
~Pema Chodron~
I hope you are doing well...

A hindrance is a blockage to the light of the wisdom mind. Rather than calling it "sin," it can be seen simply as an obstacle to understanding witch attracts the attention, causing identification, and distracts us from an even-minded awareness of the flow. Stephen Livine.

Old friends pass away, new friends appear. It is just like the days. An old day passes, a new day arrives. The important thing is to make it meaningful: a meaningful friend - or a meaningful day. HH Dalai Lama I hope you are having a beautiful weekend~ Tashi Delek~Barbara
"The more we train to see ourselves as such a meditational deity,
the less bound we will feel by life's ordinary disappointments and frustrations.
This divine self-visualisation empowers us to take control of our life
and create for ourselves a pure environment
in which our deepest nature can be expressed. "
Lama Yeshe
Clouds and rain Shroud the gateless gate; Frost and snow Veil the winding road. With contemplation and Subtlety of spirit We discover Tao And the secret of the Way Grows within us.
This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness. HH Dalai Lama Hope you had a wonderful weekend and are doing well~Sending Love~Barbara
If we look carefully at our experience of daily life, we will see that we’re rarely in the present moment. Instead, we are living in the past or in the future. Our experience remains primarily on the conceptual level because we are always lost in our thoughts, one moment thinking of how life was, and next about how it will be.
The truth is found only in the moment of present experience, which is always fleeting. So why do we call memories “the past”? Each thought occurs in the present. What we are experiencing now is new. It is not what we have experienced before but what we are creating now in the present moment. Simply reliving the past in a neurotic or obsessive way is not going to help us with anything. On the other hand, if we direct our experience properly, reflecting on past events with mindfulness and awareness, then we may gain some insight into our actions. If such reflections help to free us from our habitual patterns, then there is some benefit to those memories.
In general, however, if we do not have a proper means of working with our minds, then these recurring recollections of the past and projections of the future are not very fruitful. We are never here, in the present moment. We never actually see reality or recognize the true nature of “things”. -Dzogchen Ponlop-

“Visions come to the mind, but where do they appear and who understands them? Who tastes sadness and happiness? If you look back to the mind’s situation, you will see that everything is made by the mind. But if you look to the mind you will see that the mind too seems to have no independent existence. However, if the mind is not there, then who called the names and made the causes of existence? Therefore the mind must exist, and everything else exists in dependence on mind. Nothing exists independently of mind.” -Lopon Tenzin Namdak –
