Hey guys, Just wanted to let you know, we listen to you guys here all day at work, we love the morning thang!!!! We just feel bad for Monica, having to deal with you guys! hehehehe
Funny, how would the listeners know if he wanted to hear the local stuff? They've never heard it on your station. You have a license for the public airwaves, but the public actually owns that airwave. It used to be that the federal government required a certain amount of local programs from the stations for a community service. But de-regulation has stripped away that obligation. It used to be that was part of the deal station owners had for the right to use and make money off the public airwaves. "The National Stuff" is great to a point, but it shouldn't dominate completely. That's not a fair balance. Local music isn't asking for a lot, just a little access to the local public. It would seem that K 92 would want to help develop the local economy. It's said that America doesn't make anything anymore. Well, local original music is one of our last home-made products. You are operating a license for the airwaves owned by the public. We, the local music makers, would just like a little access. "The National Stuff" is cool. But some think a lot of it is sort of mindless. What's wrong with Roanoke having a little bit of time for itself? Just asking a reasonable question. By the way, you guys run a great station. We wouldn't be asking if you didn't. And the fact that you're willing to post our comments and engage in a debate says so much about you. We just pose the question.
