kaChing's career as a composer started at age four. At six and without any formal training, he gave his first public performance of his own composition, an acapella piece titled "Give me candy!". At this early stage he began expanding the existing spectrum of sound and musical language and to develop the unique style for which he unfortunately not is very known for today.
In the mid 1980s kaChing built his own studio/laboratory whereby he was able to create an environment where he could compose and perform.
kaChing tends to avoid discussion as to the mechanics of how his music is created, simply stating, " I function as a channel through which music emerges from the chaos of noise". This chaos is usually never channeled into anything else which explains why he is not known to the music world.
The sound of kaChing is unique. Through a keyboard-based combination of luck and accidents, he has created a remarkable and unique worlds of sound. kaChing plays all the instruments himself: he is composer, arranger, producer and at the same time he doesn´t even know the meaning of these words.
From the late 1970s as a young boy, with careful use of his parents accordian, he created sound textures which at the time were considered to be just noise and still are as a matter of fact.
kaChing is something of a recluse, since the early 1970s he had made very few concert appearances - not because he wanted to, but merly because nobody ever asked him.
