A LIFE IN THE ATMOSPHERE OF MUSIC!
2007 gave birth to a blooming young face in the electronic music
scene, who with big melodic instrumentations, released aromatic
records on Freude Am Tanzen, Mo’s Ferry/Fenou and Hypercolour.
Kadebostan was born.
He defined a very special, attractive, style with lots of enthusiasm
and soul. Intelligent and finely arranged, sensing club music, going
far away from the usual electronic music, heard in most clubs of today.
The tracks, or rather songs, from Kadebostan develop a restless
element, driven by deep passion and flavoured with various influences
from music’s history.
Remains of classic and jazz melt together into one new thing - a
unique vision of music.
Kadebostan generally draws inspiration from an eclectic sortiment of
music and art.
To achieve what he is looking for, he travels to different places and
record original musicians from that area (like a chamber orchestra in
Minsk) and collaborates with different musicians performing all kinds
of instruments and adding all kinds of spice into his vision of sound.
As a live act he offers electronic music as a romantic art form
without kitsch.
His live sets turn all these influences into a primetime
show that leaves the crowd stunned and turns the audience
into a hypnotic dance frenzy.
Travelling with analog gear Kadebostan is fully focussed on the
interaction between audience and artist.
His live sets are 90 minutes of pure suspense – 90 minutes that pass
you by like a split-second.
Right now he is working on a song for a special compilation for
Pole's Scape label as well as follow-ups for Freude Am Tanzen and
Mo’s Ferry/Fenou while playing gigs at Panorama Bar, Registratur,
Unsound Festival and others…
This artist is re-inventing electronic music with very
own ideas and specific arrangements turning them into one piece of
art that can't be compared to anything heard before...
The grounded vision of a label, which at the moment is trumpeting rough times for a change in a rich, fascinating tenor
with the required balance from rigidness and surprise.
Kadebostan’s second release on FAT connects especially with his musicality from his earlier works. He borrows from
his style emphasis and surprise at the same time. Up through finely composed tonal art which functions flawlessly at
home and at those ebullient moments in the club. Harmonic, electric prepared music, graceful and voluminous without
an over-produced taste, thrills the hearing channels, to fill the heart with cool club music and some of what it doesn’t
always get. The night active spots are not completely composed of hordes of masculine, sweaty bodies. Exactly the
sensibility which remains in the thoughts, Kadebostan’s cluster-sonic formulations are there for the way.
A. Ruff Dancer
A definite demand on the symphonic sense at the rush of movement. Classic fragments and a driving melodic line along
with an opulent theatrical bootlick, and in expectation of kind. The delicate bass beats quite deep underneath the knee
caps, where the swing of the body begins.
B.1 Entroducing Kadebostan
A quasi-manifestation of the artist borne from his musical identity. Melancholy, a dash of tomfoolery and a world
perspective team up to bring about a deep opus of full multifaceted ideas. So a beginning and end of his live act or a
DJ set where warmth seems to play a fairly significant role.
B.2 Hidden Treasure
Quietly trickles the melody, voices out of the distance beckon. A measured beat structure raises slowly, the harmonic
structures wander on the path of the lost, which at the end empties itself of all economy.
Review:
Fenou - the sublabel of Mo’s Ferry Prod. for more experimental tracks between minimal and electronica leaves the path of releasing only minicompilations with fenou05. Kadebostan’s „grand theatre e.p.“ is an homage to fantastic voices from a distant place, as it seems. With his first EP on Freude am Tanzen he already showed that his music is a melange of longingly melodies, melancholic vocals and minimal instrumented electronics, that is nothing but touching. Like the previous fenou releases 5 is coming as a limited edition of serial numbered 10inch vinyl records.
Some Media and Artist support:
2000 and One: “aaahh i love this record. so super cool. laidback classic vocals. THE NAME OF THE GAME!!!! played that one at my opening @ 11 amsterdam. full support:) x, 2000 and One”
Laurent Garnier (F-Com): “realy intresting work will playlist on the radio ”
Giles Peterson (BBC): “played by Gilles Peterson (BBC Radio One)”
Christopher Colak: “Italoboyz started this, or at least helped old, lost vocal samples reach new and young audiences. And so many producers followed that hype, but only few got managed to do such good pieces. This new Kadebostan EP contains one of the best three arrangements made so far in this sense. Very suitable pads and clicks to the original melody and vocal. Pure fun. Kadebostan gives us three mesh-up minimal soap opera of utmost joy. "5:15AM" is the 4/4 dancabily, "Sofia On Stage" is the most Fenou track of the EP. Really epic and narrative melancholy inside. "Batalla En El Cielo" is the contemporary electronic music piece with ethnic cuts and eyedrops of pure passion. Former Freude Am Tanzen's Kadebostan hits the hearts real strong with his unique style.”
DJ Gio MC-505: “I'm a fan of Fenou from the first release, I'm a fan of 10", I'm a fan of experimental products like this. Fine electronic for minds find a place on b-side and micro-freak-techno is on other side. "5.15 AM" is massive, with samples taken from the music of the past (maybe from the 50s?) combined with noizy beats. Samim meets Italoboyz, and one of the possible future hits is ready for the launch.”
Karotte (Cocoon): “ich find die a seite ganz toll. zum spielen etwas schwierig aber ich hab da schon meine clubs im kopf wo diese nummer morgens bestens passt:-)”
Review From Groove.de:
"The new FAT-Act Kadebostan produces a mysterious music which didn't get its
special pathos from the Detroit sound. The grooves spread an intensive and
meditative ease. Beyond the beats Kadebostan uses almost no loops. This
creates an aura of something singular and unique. It's almost impossible to
decide whether it's acustic strings, xylophone or electronic instruments.
It's only Murcof who managed so far such an unconventional and effective use
of symphonic instruments for the club music. The Caracas Soul EP is an
absolute exceptional album which will keep one busy for a long time."
Review From Boomkat.com:
"Positively the freshest twelve from the FAT crew in what seems like an age - from a hugely promising new name out of Switzerland. "Caracas soul" chimes in with some big audience sad yet inspiring south american vocal, but its the massive flip we're favouring. "Back to my first heroes" is a drop dead, cosmic-balearic, soon to be classic piece. Try running this for a sunrise/sunset party of your choice (delete as appropriate)and simply step back and feel the love. Seriously though, this tune did funny things to us - and while "Spirit Soldiers" runs it down again in a feisty, luciano inflected, latin influenced minimal rhythm style - its "Back to my first heroes" that's doing it. Slow and malleable, the rhythm is not an obvious contender, thats until an iceberg sized bassline hoves into view - this is a sub-continental sized freezer of a bassline, large."
Review From DE:BUG :
"It's a new act of fat, which thrushes the speed in the beginning and then
strikes out gentle to fascinate the audience. Three trax which sneek so
gentle and melancholic that everybody is flying because of the
soundpatterns. Extase in slow motion."
A new face from switzerland, fished out of the exuberant cd-r promos waiting in the mailbox to be heard. if we the fat-philistines deny the public these wonderful odes, we would surely be drawing a dark cloud over jena, rushing the saale to a torrent, and our labels' future as cursed and be-damned; as if frodo had never thrown the ring into the inferno within the mountain of doom. that is the dance-electronic homage to a conflicting and at the same time dazzling city in south america. belief, joy, hope, sadness, longing, and melancholy are brought to you direct out of the heart of kadebostan to the dancers. how important and beguilingly embracing melody structures can be in house and techno, are demonstrated here with effective clarity. latin-american, feminine vocals are through force and economy, artily arranged for european ears without the kitsch. magical music based in electro, thrilling all, even hearts of stone being brought to life in pulsating animation!
