On peut dire que FAHEM est né avec une guitare à la main où s’il ne l’avait pas à la main il l’avait déjà dans la tête !

Bercé par une ambiance familiale musicale, FAHEM a grandit avec un sens du rythme inné. A 11 ans et demi, il donne son premier concert en public et ne cesse de faire parler de lui. En effet, sa facilité à manier la guitare et sa dextérité déconcertent le public. 

A l’adolescence, il découvre la musique des gitans du Sud de la France et se prend de passion pour celle-ci. Chaque jour, il étudie intensivement les techniques guitaristiques de ce style pour former son premier groupe avec des reprises de rumba gitane. Avec ce groupe composé d'amis musiciens et de son grand frère, il se produit en France et à l'étranger (Allemagne, Hollande, Belgique).

Parallèlement à ses concerts et à sa vie scolaire, il découvre une autre dimension de la guitare avec le flamenco de Paco De Lucia. En grand solitaire, il s’enferme des heures durant dans sa chambre pour relever « à l’oreille », les compositions de ce génie de la guitare afin d’assimiler les techniques et les compas de la guitare flamenca.

Toutefois sa passion ne se limite pas au flamenca. Il explore les différents langage de la « 6 cordes » en passant par le blues de Gary Moore, Clapton, Santana, Hendrix ; le classique (Lagoya, Aranjuez…) et le Jazz (Biréli Lagrène, John Mc Laughlin, Al di Meola, George Benson .…).

Il décide de s’ouvrir à la composition et de se produire avec une formation personnelle. En s’appuyant sur sa solide expérience de la scène et son talent guitaristique, il choisit d’orchestrer un Quintet dont il crée les thèmes et les arrangements.

Reçu sur des scènes de référence en France comme à l'étranger (Montreux Jazz Festival, Festival de la Médina, Institut du monde arabe, Sunset....) ; FAHEM a  reçu la reconnaissance des milieux professionnels. Il a aussi développé un flamenco bien à lui, sous une forme jazzy avec des notes teintées d'Orient et des références au classique adapté à son esprit flamenco, reflet de ses influences, de sa vie et de ses rencontres.

Born of a modest and large family, which taste for music was marked, Kader Fahem started learning guitar early at the age of 7. His first approach of the instrument was dedicated to the traditional music of his Kabyle origins, much appreciated then by his parents. Two years later, he took part to a cultural event where he mesmerized his audience and the local press: that was an eye-opener.

Aware of the abilities of this young virtuoso, Kemji Fahem, his elder brother, decided to teach him the fundamentals of guitar. Even though he was himself an amateur, his relationships with Gypsies from the South of France had allowed him to discover part of flamenco's mystical world (Catalan rumba). A long apprenticeship period followed where he learnt chords and techniques, acquired velocity, which naturally led him to create his own amateur Gypsy flamenco band, the Flamenco Kids, at the age of 12.

As time went by, Kader Fahem acquired his own style, his personal touch. His love of flamenco combined with a strong will to learn pressed him to go deeper and discover on his own the different hidden sides of the "flamenco puro", the roots. He then dedicated his teenage years to study the soul and strength of this deep music. Outside the frame of any teaching system and with the sole inspiration he got from the great names of the genre (Paco de Lucia, Vicente Amigo, ...), he got familiar with the compas (flamenco rhythms such as buleria, allegria, tango) until he mastered them and finally created his own sound.

After he reached a certain maturity, he deemed necessary to travel to Andalusia, not only to immerse himself in the history and countryside that this region has to offer, but also to meet other "aficionados" (flamenco amateurs).?Aged 25 today, he is now a composer and performer in a flamenco-jazz style that stems from a cultural crossbreeding, influenced by his own life, childhood, travels and origins.

Today at 25 years, he is a type-setter and interprets of a flamenco-jazz, result of a cultural interbreeding influenced by his life, his childhood, his voyages and his origins. Far from the Hispanic grounds, he expresses through his works, his great sensitivity and his love for flamenco. Far away from Hispanic lands, his works express his great sensitivity and his love for flamenco: "Flamenca guitar is the reflection of the soul".

His outstanding improvisation talent is built on a subtle a captivating play that mixes inspiration, technique and virtuosity. To interprete his compositions, Kader Fahem surrounded himself with four musicians with varied musical horizons. Their complicity in life shows on stage and their strong personalities give the band its singularity.
