The 2008 KAFFNY launched on Feb 9. KAFFNY is the Korean-American Film Festival New York - and that means the one gathering in NYC for emerging Korean-American talent. In 2007, over 300 strong called out to us for only 184 seats. For 2008, we booked the 860-seat Skirball Center for The Performing Arts at NYU. Transformed and ready to entertain, KAFFNY is making another step forward to its ultimate endgoal, to realize new opportunities for Korean-American filmmakers in the American and international film markets.
Currently, KAFFNY is made possible by the financial contributions of its organizers, Dave Kim and Jong Lee – and in part by the Korean Cultural Service. Red Mango is the product sponsor for the event. The Korea Times is our Korean media sponsor. In-kind service contributions are made by Peter Kang at Barrel web design studio; logo & web banner design by graphic designer and SVA alumnus, Jane Lee; graphic designer, Jane Song (poster, program and flyer); and Chung Tsang on preliminary web management for KAFFNY website.
