start content --> Kai Michael Hansen (17 de enero de 1963, Hamburgo, Alemania), es uno de los músicos más influyentes del heavy metal, a veces llamado el "padre" del power metal y del metal melódico. Empezó su carrera en 1979 en una banda llamada Iron Fist, junto a Piet Sielck, que después llamarán Second Hell. En 1984 fundó Helloween junto a Michael Weikath, a quien había conocido mientras realizaba su servicio militar, donde sería guitarrista y cantante, grabando un LP Walls of Jericho, un MLP Helloween y un EP Judas, pero deja las voces ya que se le complicaba cantar en los tonos y ser primera guitarra de la banda, permitiendo la entrada de Michael Kiske, momento en que se dedica únicamente a la guitarra. A fines de 1988 se retira de Helloween después de la gira Europea del disco Keeper Of The Seven Keys Pt.2 y recluta al cantante Ralph Scheepers para formar un nuevo grupo: Gamma Ray. En 1994 Kai Hansen vuelve a dedicarse tanto a las voces como a las guitarras cuando Scheepers deja Gamma Ray. Hansen también tocó la guitarra en Iron Savior a mediados de los años 90, aunque lo dejó para dedicarse exclusivamente a Gamma Ray. Es en el año 1995, grabo el disco Land Of The Free entregándole una nueva potencia y sonido a Gamma Ray, el cual continua entregando hasta nuestros días. Kai Hansen From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia start content --> Kai Michael Hansen (born January 17, 1963, in Hamburg, Germany) is a power metal guitarist and vocalist. // Biography His musical career started in 1978 in a band called Iron Fist, alongside Iron Savior's co-founder and producer Piet Sielck. In 1984 he and Michael Weikath founded Helloween, where he was guitarist and singer until Michael Kiske took over the microphone for the albums Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 1 and Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 2. Hansen left the band due to the extensive touring in 1988-89 and went on to form his own power metal band Gamma Ray. Hansen also joined Iron Savior as guitarist in 1997, but quit after a few years to focus his efforts on Gamma Ray. He has now forged a very successful career with Gamma Ray, releasing several albums and playing sold out tours across the globe. Kai participated in a large number of other projects. He played in Blind Guardian's album Follow the Blind and Tales From the Twilight World. Together with HammerFall he recorded a cover version of Helloween's I Want Out. Kai played the role of Regrin the dwarf in Avantasia rock opera by Tobias Sammet. In 2005, he toured with the young German speed metal band Stormwarrior from his home town of Hamburg as lead singer, playing material from his classic Helloween debut album "Walls of Jericho" - the favorite album and greatest influence of Stormwarrior.[citation needed] "Stormwarrior featuring Kai Hansen" returned in 2007 to play at the Magic Circle Festival in Bad Arolsen and at the Wacken Open Air Festival.
