About me: Kairon is Sven Luyten. He fell in love with electronic music in the early 90’s and went through a lot of different stages of the electronic underground. Playing music became more and more important in his life. In the blessed year 1995, he discovered the ‘goa trance’ movement and nothing was the same anymore. In this time working and playing ocasionally in several clubs and other aspects of the party world as a dj, the temptation was huge to immediately throw himself on the psychedelic scene, but the love for the music and the element of surprise while being on the dancefloor, kept him from expanding his vinyl collection in the Goa direction. As people are only human (and a “little” pressure from his friends;) the first psychedelic set was played back in ’99 and Kairon got more and more involved in the community.
Due to his wide musical background, he created his own peculiar style,which fell in good taste of the people on the dancefloor and got the chance to share the stage with artists and dj’s like Astral Projection, Mfg, Hallucinogen, Xerox & Illumination, Chakra, Psycraft, Juno Reactor,Edoardo, D-Nox Dino Psaras,symphonix,Mapusa, Talamasca, Joti Sidhu, Element, Stella Nutella, MWNN, Silicon Sound,…As owner and founder of the Kairoo Records label and recordstore, Kairon’s name got even more respected in the psyscene. The music he plays depends a lot of the time he plays and the concept of the party. In the nighttime more growling and solid psychedelic sounds, combined with strong full on music, while in the morning, he mixes melodic music with swinging grooves, while daytime brings the more true deep progressive psychedelic minima trance. He also played several times at the Sunda Sunda events, organised by dj Djamoon, aka as dj Marko at the legendary Belgian club La Rocca on Sunday night, were you will here him play the more progressive side of psytrance…with a twist!
Being involved in the music scene for quite some time, he got invited to play at several clubs, parties and huge events in Belgium, like the annual City Parade,the Dance-a-Delic Festival., spinning the decks besides names like Franky Jones, Marko, Phi-Phi, Jean , Philip … He got dancefloors burning in Belgium,Germany, Portugal,Greece, Sweden, France, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Nepal and Spain earning a well respected place in the trance community…
While cleaning out the unfortunate damage the 5YK gathering in November 2007 left, Kairon pulled his strenght together and used his organising and managing skills as an independent artist & production manager for professional event concerns like Boa& Happy Bvba.
Happy 6 (www.goforhappy.be) and Dissonant Festival (www.dissonant-festival.be) where two milestones for the Belgian trance community. For the first time, psytrance was accepted as a worthy underground subculture in Belgian party land and while promoting Astrix, Infected Mushroom, Xerox& Ilumination, Lani, Bitkit and the whole Belgian artists scene, a legacy was left, not easy to forget…
With great grief and after a long and exhausting fighting period, Kairon decided to let his 5 year old child Kairoo Records fall into a neverending sleep..to never wake up…
The 5 Years anniversary gathering, 5YK (the largest indoor gathering got shut down by some corrupt politicians in a dirty game… ) left a financial hangover and it was not possible to recover the label, shop and event company from this drama that washed out a complete 10 years of hard work and faith ..The people got their rematch at the 5YK..&1/2 party in April 2008 and in June the official ending was announced…
Not letting him hold back by any means, Kairon slowly is recovering, joined the international trance community again whilst recharging his batteries at the festivals, meeting and communicating with his friends . Here he is now is finding it’s place in global projects and productions…Supporting the scene in other ways and following his vision in the widely grown global scene, you can count on him spreading the finest tunes, guidance and positive vibes ..all around the dancefloors….
