Kairos - an ancient Greek word meaning the right or opportune moment
Remember that buzz, that overwhelming rush of adrenaline you got when seeing a band play your favourite song live? That feeling you get that says, "Yes! This is why I love music!" Well, Kairos bring you that every time.
Boasting the sort of hook-driven indie rock that most guitar bands would give their right arms for Kairos are one of the best new groups on the block. The band comprises; Aaron Pimlott providing commanding vocals and guitar, Mark Harvey on soaring lead guitar matched by some honey-sweet but powerful vocal harmonies, Jonatas Neves on sublime keyboards and the twin groove-machine of Jon Neves's kinetic drums and Tim Hamilton's cool, throbbing bass.
The band have also built up a great reputation as a terrific live act, their joyous shows winning people over wherever they play. Matching their powerful, catchy and heartfelt songs, great arrangements and enthusiastic, good-humoured performances means that each gig is a celebration of all the things that make music so vital in our lives.
In a very short space of time Kairos have released two highly acclaimed EPs, gigged in both the UK and mainland Europe, appeared on national television and after just three months of initially forming, made their live debut in front of 8,000 people. Such a start is pretty phenomenal and the future is looking even brighter and busier.
From moments of pure visceral intensity through to their trademark stadium-bound hooks and massive melodies and onto heartbreaking love songs Kairos always deliver. There is nothing contrived or forced about the band, they are what they are and have a tangible sense of genuine passion. Forget all the 'reality television' stars, music is definitely alive and Kairos are living proof of that. Catch the moment!
