.. Personally I love exploring natural environments and spaces; like the reptile house or the aviary room at the zoo, feeding the birds at my home, observing dolphins dancing among the waves and sea creatures beneath the surface of the sea, watching the light change as it shines thru windows and reflects and dances on the walls and the shadows change from tall to small and the light changes from light to night and back again, listening to music and sound created by voices and instruments, cooking with exotic spices that flavor the food and scent the home and then sharing it with friends, READING just about anything that gets me thinking and falling in love with my unknowing all over again, Sitting among people without saying a word, finding out that it's not really that awkward and realizing that it's just about the best way to sit and they feel the same way as well... (um, meditating with peers) an eclectic yoga practice, poetry, the arts, Passing time in bookstores among the typed pages and pictures of textbooks and others full of information, hanging out on pool decks cuz that's just one of the places I am afforded a spot to earn a living, a quality hour all alone drinking a cup of chai tea with whatever spices I have made it with this time. and so on and so on... climbing trees, hanging upside down from jungle gyms, doing an occasional pull-up and chin-up and verifying that I'm not as strong as I used to be but thankful that I can still unscrew the lid of a jar if need be... anything and anyone that perpetuates a pendulum of forces... but really it's all good... WHY DO SO MANY OF US WANT TO EMPTY OUR MINDS?...STOP FLINCHING AND ENJOY THE SCENERY... As Patanjali recommends find a steady and comfortable seat. A good question to keep in mind; "Are we led to believe that our lives are not already just about PERFECT, or do we come to believe that all on our own?". Post a comment if you wish.
"The Rainbow, as archetypal symbol, appears in many mythologies throughout the world. In Hindu mythology, the goddess Maya created the world out of seven rainbow-hued veils. In Egyptian myth, it was the seven stoles of Isis; in Christianity, the seven veils of Salome; for the
Babylonians, it was Ishtar's rainbow-jeweled necklace; and for the Greeks, the winged Iris, who carried the gods' messages to humans on Earth. From Celtic myth, the pot of gold at the rainbow's end represents a kind of HolyGrail-the lost vessel of spritual renewal and fulfillment.
Carl Jung referred to gold as the symbolic end product of inner alchemical transformation. Passage through the chakras is an alchemical process of increasing refinement that unites light and shadow, male and female, spirit and matter, all in the crucible of the body and psyche. The pot of gold is indeed the elusive philosopher's stone that lures us into the heroic journey of transformation.
In the Turkish language, the word for rainbow literally means "bridge". Ancient myths tell us that as doomsday approaches, the Rainbow Bridge will be broken down, severing forever the connection between Heaven and Earth. As we face an uncertain future in the dawning of a new mellenium, perhaps doomsday can be averted by reestablishing the Rainbow Bridge once again through the medium of our own consciousness. Thus the journey becomes a sacred quest-one that restores hope and connection, renewing ourselves, and preserving the world." From Eastern Body Western Mind by Anodea Judith... Let's get the party started!
Music
..
..World Beats, Groove, Mixes and REMixes, Female vocalists/male vocalists, artists that can and do use their voice to make sound interesting, pop, indie, folk, ragas, Mantra (We all know that's music to our ears too) Classical Adagios, Baroque, Jazz, Acoustic and classic rock, Ani DiFranco, Tom Waits... Arjun and the Guardians, Nina Simone; Reggae, Hawaiin, music from any era, uh, probably not AM radio please... Top of the pops on NPR, I think that is the name of that show where they interview the young and upcoming dedicated musical artists...and then there's the sound current of nature, lightning as it strikes, never twice in the same place, the ocean tides, pounding rain or sleet, the quiet an unassuming noise of new fallen snow... a swish of a dog's wagging tail, whale songs, garbage trucks doing the work of carting away peoples stuff.... ahhhh sweet sweet music to my ears... the naad... when I talk to god and god talks to me... w/ my beloved... the wind whishing and whirling and leaves falling... crackling fire... birds learning to respond to the whistles and chirping of their own families...
Movies
Movies that have obscure story lines that carve the details of the characters lives and intricately weave a story line to hold my attention for the entire film and right on through the credits. I guess I can edit this later.... Whalerider, Indigo, Practical Magic, The Ballad of Jack and Rose; nothing is etched in stone forever. Preferably not something with too much violence.
Television
hmmmmm Made-up "reality" TV is such a boring premise(to me)... UGG to channel surfing, ok, maybe the weather channel and a tiny bit of Jon Stewart. Bravo if there is an interesting interview. Terrible viewing these days unless I'm watching some artsy strange bizarre movie with metaphors and stuff. Really very very little TV...hmmmm maybe I should get rid of cable!
Books
I have a deep affection for books... I am reading 5 or 6 at any given time. JUst finished reading Dakini's Warm Breath, The Feminine Principle in Tibetan Buddhism, YOGA: SpandaKarika and Desire by Daniel Odier and The Third Eye... now I'm delving into The Book of Secrets by OSHO. Also reading a book called Party of One, The Loner's Manifesto which is unusual for me to be enjoying a work of fiction. And I've gotten some books on Tape because it's nice to be read to. My back pack is really heavy most of the time. I think I use it to ground me and then my thinking follows into a quieter, less awkward and more peaceful place. Some people are amazingly clever at stringing words together and binding the pages into a magnificent volume that I have trouble parting with thus accumulating stuff that takes up space and should be dusted every now and then. I have my attachment issues. But like an old tree getting wiser one year at a time...

About me: ..
.. I am my spirit trapped in a body. Experiencing the divine from an unusual perspective. Seeking to be firmly established in a happy place with my own intrinsic reality, wondering about transcending objects. And when I fall from that place of my own volition or because others are calling for me my awareness of the alternate world remains intact and guides me home.
I AM ME... on my journey of discovery...
The above pictures were taken by me...The beautiful mandalas are the work of Bonnie Bell and David Todd... to credit the artists... they truely inspire me to do my work! Thank-you....

Who I'd like to meet: ..
..People that empower the truth... folks that know that cat will always come out of the bag... and don't worry when it does because they know they live conscientiously. Tolerant people who will step up to create more tolerance. Human beings that make and keep promises and are able to cross their hearts with confidence! Plain folks whose spirited side always shines bright even in the aftermath of sorrow...as well as those who have to rationalize everything...Don't worry there is something known as HOPE and it comes first in the form of helplessness and then evolves to hope-full-ness and then the formless seemingly begins to take form and becomes a reality... If you are still reading you might be a person I'd like to meet. Wake up to the magical mystery tour :-) If you are thirsty be brave and drink from the magnificent, perpetual circling cup. It gets easier with discipline and practice.
People who may want to have an elixir in my backyard sanctuary...
Thank you angel!!!! This spring was rather challenging, but with my own healing journey having gotten stronger and clearing the rape since May, the core is starting to awaken and be cleaned. Things can only get better from here! :-)
I wish...Hopefully tomorrow! Just waiting on documents from the lender...apparently they are slammed!! I have been crazy all week...will be in touch soon!
I am freaking out a bit, but I'm also excited. My plan for now is to take six months off and work and then go to graduate school in January. I love the English department at USC and I like Columbia a lot, so I think sticking around would be a good idea. I'm going to be getting a little house with a friend of mine and I'm pretty excited.
Hey there! Good to hear from you! The opening for Studio 34 is the last weekend in March...fun events. It's a great space! I'll be in the woods Easter weekend~ but that gathering sounds wonderful! I do hope to see you soon. I think Wah! will be at YoM soon, too.
