A FEW SHOCKING FACTS: 1).Everyday more than 38,000 children die of malnutrition which could be prevented for a few US cents per day. 2). Most of the diseases children die from in 3rd world countries are preventible or treatable for a few U.S. cents per vaccine. 3). Programs to educate, feed, provide healthcare, and running water for 3rd world countries would cost about $11.5 billion. (That's half as much as Americans spend on beer every year)!
4). In Botswana, 37% of the population has AIDS or is HIV+. 5). HIV problems in Africa are not only due to lack of safe sex. (Even if Africans wanted to be on birth control, they wouldn't be able to afford it). In many African cultures, the women do not get the final decision about such matters. They also need to have multiple children to work for the family. 6). In the U.S., the average life expectancy is about 80-years-old (depending on gender). In parts of Africa it is about 37-years-old. 7). About 218,000 people died in the S Asian tsunami. About 3,000 people were killed in 9/11. We hear all about these stories and see them all over the media. But 14 million CHILDREN died last year of preventible causes and we hardly every hear about it.
So, next time you buy a LV purse, rims for your car, overpriced brand named clothes, or any other unnecessary purchase, think of the changes you could be making. Moreover, the lives you could be saving.

Who Am I??...
I was born on August 5, 1984 in South Korea (making me 100% Korean for those that ask). In November of 1984, I was adopted by a Caucasian family in Washington and have lived here since then. So I guess you can say I'm a little "white-washed". Even though I was adopted there are some habits I can't seem to shake- my love for kim chee, my obsession w/ my "sangkapul" and my feisty attitude...I blame it on my blood!! haha
