A very unique sound pulling from flavors of her influences such as Tori Amos, Sara McLachlan, Loreena McKennitt and even some of her rock roots like Pat Benetar. She is a cross between new age, rock and adult contemporary.
Singer/Songwriter Kaleah LaRoche uses her music to bring the journeys of her heart alive. Accompanying herself at the piano / keyboards she sings the theme songs of her walk through darkness and emergence into the light. She sings of the discoveries she has made, the relationships she has learned from and the challenges of her spiritual awakening. She has a hauntingly beautiful voice that seduces, chants and soothes lullabies to the soul.
Kaleah is often compared to artists in the “new age” and the “adult contemporary” genre’s marrying the pure, ethereal tones found with artists such as Loreena McKennitt and Enya and the more emotionally expressive sounds of artists like Sara McLachlan and Tori Amos.
Kaleah invite’s listeners to embark upon their own inner journeys as she shares her life experiences revealed in the profound lyrical messages of her songs. This is a woman who at an early age survived a long battle with anorexia and bulimia. Her spiritual journey began on a conscious level at age 19 when she entered therapy to save her life. Even at this time her music was her outlet for expressing the emotions she had learned to bury. Discovering her authentic self was the way she learned to heal and recover from her disease and singing about her experiences is now the way she shares what she has learned with the world.
The world is receiving Kaleah’s music well as she is reaching a wider audience through the Internet. She has produced two CD’s that have been selling internationally. She has several Websites to promote her music and promotes independent downloads through CD Baby and Broadjam.Com. Her music is widely distributed through Apple iTunes, Tower Records, Yahoo Music, Best Buy, Rhapsody, Napster, MSN Music and other avenues. with downloads in the thousands. She has reached number one in “New Age” and number one in “Arizona” on Broadjam.com and has charted high on American Idol Underground.
Currently Kaleah is working on a third CD and performing live at special events and Coffee Houses.
