About me:

Welcome to Kaleidoscope Festival

The Kaleidoscope Festival is a multi cultural festival, which takes place on Saturday 19th July 2008 at Stanborough Park, Welwyn Garden City.

The festival is organised by the Welwyn Hatfield Ethnic Minority Group and a group of dedicated,committed volunteers. It is a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic fun filled event with activities for the whole family.

The festival aims to show-case and celebrate the rich cultural diversity found in and around Welwyn Hatfield. It also aims to improve communication between local minority ethnic communities and service providers, especially, but not limited to, statutory service providers.

2007 saw over 300 stalls in:

Arts & Crafts
Health & Beauty
Food
Multi Cultural Fashion
Information about local groups and services

This year aims to improve and build on last year's success.

2008 Planned activities include:

A number of dance performances
A variety of bands and artists performing
Plenty of children's activities

Who I'd like to meet:

Music

Last year the festivals received 10000 visitors throughout the day; this was excellent publicity for the performers. Bands and solo artist who would like to perform on the day please get in contact (All types of music considered)

Dance

Each year the festival puts on a fantastic show case of dance from all cultures. If your group would like to take part, please get in contact.

Food

The festival has a special area where you can sample food from around the world, if you would like to participate, you must have public liability insurance and a current food hygiene certificate (all foods will be considered)

Volunteers

We are currently recruiting volunteer to help on the day.

Perciphone Petticoat for Children	Sep 18 2007 10:57 PM Hi there KF Thank you for befriending me :-) I have just returned from touring in Eire with my show including a performance at The Electric Picnic Festival. It was wonderful but there was a distinct lack of children as it is for over 18's :-( However, I was performing a mixed set including some parts that I perform for children - and since then, have been contacted by a couple of children's event organisers re performing at their festivals next year. I will be touring internationally next summer - but I also want to prioritise half a dozen festivals in the UK with a new set for children.
