About Kali

I guess I started off by making random mixes on cassette when I was little :D Then in the 90's joined Melbourne goth/rock band Leviathan playing keys (Juno 6 thanks :P) and sometimes bass. Around 2000 I moved to Byron Bay where I did radio (Bay FM, after a previous stint on Melbourne's PBS FM)) and various environmental activities, then onto Chicago to join doom band Bludd. 2 years later I returned home deciding I needed to write my own music so I taught myself fruityloops, cubase, and now I'm onto ableton live. I'm still learning and having a fun journey on the way :) I sometimes dj techno/electro/ambient too for fun, never take djing seriously :P I'm music/artist liaison person w Earthdance Melbourne (4 years now!), I also co-ordinate the music in the chill area at the Rainbow Serpent Festival :) check it out: http://www.rainbowserpent.net In between all that I'm studying sound tech production at NMIT (just got Pro Tools! yeyyy!). Last year I completed (and passed!! :)) the Advanced Diploma of Music Business whereby I released a downbeat psychedelic eclectic compilation CD on September 7th 2007 thru my label Hunab Ku Creations and ran a monthly techno/electro club called Polynate. These parties happen during winter at a lush indoor venue - this years have been @ My Aeon (the old Ace Morning Bar) with our finale being a Halloween party :D So any newcomers out there playing intelligent techno/electro or live psy dub dont hesitate to private message me for details on where to submit a demo for future events and projects. Always on the lookout for up and coming producers!
