About me:
I have practice martial arts all my life. Growing up in the most dangerous cities of Portugal and meeting people from several others, made me realize I needed something, some kind of training, not just for my body, but also and mostly for my mind and soul.
I started practicing Karate Do. The philosophy of building a strong mind, a “more hard inside than outside”, a balanced body in a strong soul, was the starting point for me.
There I have learned the basics of all martial arts for 3 years. But that was not enough.
As my mind kept growing stronger and more determinated, I felt the need for a more aggressive fighting training. So I started practicing KickBoxing. Then I changed again to learn more techniques - This time I was practicing Shaolin Kempo. I felt no difficulty advancing. I became a brown belt very easily. I guess most was due to high grades in free fighting.
I was living in a city where every single day, there were robberies at night and as those times were getting harder and more dangerous, I started knife training by myself. I kept training with knifes for 8 years. Then I got an Instrutor Certification on Kali. My training got more simple and accurate. With this I could develop a more complete training program for myself.
Nowadays I focus my training in getting the most of my body and mind. Kali Silat allows me that kind of training. It is very fast and complete and the levels of concentration needed are very high.
I practice about 2 hours everyday.
Due to my experience in martial arts, I built a training and technique program from all the martial arts I know - Kali Silat, Shaolin Kempo, KickBoxing, FullContact, Jeet Kune Do and Karate Do.
Most of all, those who train with me have more ability to understand all martial arts concepts.
