I'M A BIG BOY NOW, but I still like to play with small toy cowboys. When I was about 5 years old, in the early seventies (1970 or 1971), I received for Christmas a western town. It was a US fort made of wood and printed paperboard by Comansi (Spain), plus two wood houses: a jail and a two-story hotel. I was given a lot of plastic cowboys with them, a stagecoach, and a covered wagon. I get some Rin-Tin-Tin crew too, made by Jecsan (Spain). I still remember the Christmas morning and the big surprise I had when I discovered those wonderful presents, some at my parents' place and some at my grandfather's place.
I played a lot with them figures. I lost and broke some.
But many of them have survived through the decades. In 2003, I took them from the plastic bag they had slept for years and brought them to a second life. I started looking for other figures lost in the past and some knew. I like to restaure broken figures, feeling like I give them a new birth. There goes the story of my collecting hobby.
COLLECTING FAR WEST figures in the 1/32 or 70mm scale: cowboys, indians, Mexicans, US cavalry, American civil war troops, civilians, cows, dogs... Of course, I got plastic and wood buildings that fit with them: sheriff's office, bank, general store, barbershop... Everything that makes a 19th century Frontier town. http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vdmlld21vcmVwaWNzLm15c3BhY2UuY29tL2luZGV4LmNmbT9mdXNlYWN0aW9uPXVzZXIudmlld3BpY3R1cmUmZnJpZW5kaWQ9MTU1MDczMzk4">View my pics.
