MySpace a place for friends

Kalon is an art rock ensemble, performing in Pittsburgh and abroad since 2003.

We originally gathered over conversations about music and art at a wonderful Indian restaurant named Thali. Though originally meant as a side project, it took on an energy of its own, and took over as a central focus.

We are all growing and working towards out own unique musical expression, and leaving little breadcrumbs along the way. What we are doing now, will most likely be very different from what is coming next, and so on, but we hope that what we leave behind will be worthwhile.

Our base instrumentation relies on guitars, cello, bass, and drums, though we are also experimenting with harp, sitar, and tabla, zither, and field recordings for future compositions. We also have an occasional 'performance art' approach to live performances, including a wide variety of visual performances, and interaction, where possible.
