Bio
"…toe-tappingly catchy, joyously touching and heart-warmingly wonderful…" BBC "Driving nu-folk with a great visual impact..." Worthy FM "Their set is big, loud and well put together, they give a solid performance and their song-writing is witty and interesting." New Music Transmission Kamal Arafa and the Moonlight band are a five piece, alternative folk band, formed and based in Manchester, England. Their effortless blend of upbeat acoustic folk, orchestral string arrangements, a jumping rhythm section and crisp vocal harmony has defined a sound that is both perceptive and enchanting. The Band regularly perform, in and around Manchester. Their shows have included regular appearances at city-based venues and festivals; such as Glastonbury and In the City and performances along side Manchester's finest. "Everyone in the band brings something different to the music that we make. I think that's why it's so hard to define our sound. I feel really lucky that I get to hang out with talented musicians, that also happen to be interesting people…" Kamal Arafa. -
